Job Summary

The Senior App Ops Engineer will join a diverse team providing application support across multiple technologies. Key responsibilities include gathering and analyzing system metrics, partnering with development teams for service improvement, participating in system design, and building automation for sustainable systems. The role involves rigorous testing, release procedures, capacity planning, and incident management, focusing on permanent resolution of issues and cross-team coordination.

Must Have

  • Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems and applications for performance tuning and fault finding.
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation.
  • Build and document automation processes for Infrastructure as a Service/Infrastructure as code.
  • Perform backup and patch management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for all issues and find permanent resolutions.
  • Coordinate with all other teams involved in user-related issues.
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, EKS).
  • Experience in backend (Python, Node.js, Java, .Net) and frontend (React, Angular) development, RESTful APIs, CI/CD.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Docker.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and Splunk.
  • Deep understanding of logs, metrics, tracing, performing root cause analysis and incident management.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in shifts/weekends, and a customer-centric approach.

About the Role:

The Team

Diverse and responsible team working on multiple applications and providing application support in two shifts. Ready to accept challenge on multiple technologies and eager for any new challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation.
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objective
  • Day to day working with different teams like infra team for related issues
  • Build and document automation processes for Infrastructure as a Service/Infrastructure as code.
  • Backup and Patch management
  • RCA of all the issues and deep interest in finding permanent resolution of all issues.
  • Co-ordination of all other teams involved in issues related with users.
  • Self-driven person

What We’re Looking For:

1. Cloud Infrastructure - AWS (preferred), Azure, Kubernetes platforms with knowledge on EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, EKS, deploying/scaling/troubleshooting/monitoring and cost optimization.

2. Development - Experience in backend (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, .Net), frontend (e.g., React, Angular), RESTful APIs, CI/CD

3. DevOps - Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Containerization (Docker)

4. Scripting & Tooling - Python, Bash, or PowerShell, Splunk

5. Troubleshooting & Support - Deep understanding of logs, metrics, tracing, performing root cause analysis and incident management

6. Soft Skills - Strong communication, working in shifts/weekends, customer-centric approach

The Location: Hyderabad, India

Grade: 10 {Senior Software Engineer-Application Operations}

Total Work Experience: 6 to 8 years

Hybrid model: 4 times a week work from office is mandatory.

Shift time: 6:30 am to 2:30 pm IST / 2:30 pm to 11 pm IST
