Plan A Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Developer with 8+ years in TypeScript/JavaScript, cloud infrastructure, and database design. The role involves architecting, building, and maintaining backend services, APIs, and microservices, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability. The engineer will extensively use Cursor and OpenAI tools for development, documentation, and debugging, manage infrastructure on Cloudflare and AWS/Azure, and implement CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration with frontend and product teams is essential for seamless API design and data flows.

Must Have

• 8+ years of backend development experience with TypeScript/JavaScript
• Advanced expertise in cloud infrastructure basics
• Advanced expertise in database design
• Fluency in using Cursor, OpenAI models, and AI-assisted workflows
• Solid experience with Node.js and backend frameworks (Express, Fastify, NestJS, Hono, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare Workers, Pages, or related edge compute tools
• Experience with AWS or Azure (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, S3, App Services, Functions, etc.)
• Solid database experience with MongoDB or SQL-based databases

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Architect, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Design scalable systems, focusing on performance, reliability, and clean architecture.
• Use Cursor and OpenAI tools extensively for development, documentation, debugging, test generation, and architecture prototyping.
• Manage and optimize infrastructure on Cloudflare and either AWS or Azure (your experience can be in either ecosystem).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, backend automation, and development workflows.
• Integrate with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server; design schemas and optimize queries.
• Build secure authentication, authorization, and API gateway layers.
• Collaborate closely with frontend and product teams, ensuring seamless API design and data flows.
• Conduct performance profiling, logging, monitoring, and reliability improvements.
• Mentor other developers and help guide overall architectural direction.

EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of backend development experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Solid experience with Node.js and backend frameworks (Express, Fastify, NestJS, Hono, etc.).

• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare Workers, Pages, or related edge compute tools.

• Solid database experience with MongoDB or SQL-based databases.
• Familiarity with infrastructure tooling (Docker, Terraform, IaC is a plus).
