Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join their Water & Wastewater Conveyance team in Burnaby, BC. This leadership role involves major water and wastewater treatment projects, supporting community growth and sustainability. The ideal candidate is a motivated, collaborative professional with deep experience in civil and municipal engineering, strong technical judgment, and a passion for high-quality infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities include leading design, project management, coordinating with teams, clients, and regulators, and preparing technical documentation.
Must Have
- Lead the design and project management of civil systems for municipal water, wastewater, and/or wastewater drainage conveyance and treatment facilities
- Provide technical design leadership and coordinate with project teams, clients, and regulators
- Prepare design documentation, technical reports, project specifications, and contract documents
- Develop construction cost estimates and conduct constructability reviews
- Support contract administration and perform site inspections during construction
- Contribute to proposal development and project scoping
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 12 years of relevant experience in civil or municipal engineering
- Experience in planning, design, construction inspection, and contract administration for municipal water/wastewater related projects
- P.Eng with EGBC or the ability to obtain registration within 18 months
Good to Have
- 15+ years leading design and project management for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure
- Strong experience in proposal writing and job scoping
- Familiarity with BIM, CAD, and hydraulic modelling platforms
- Contract Administration certification (MMCD, CCDC, etc.)
- Excellent technical writing skills and strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role on major water and wastewater treatment projects that directly support the growth, resilience, and sustainability of communities across British Columbia.
We’re looking for a motivated, collaborative professional with deep experience in civil and municipal engineering—someone who brings initiative, strong technical judgment, and a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, engage directly with clients and regulatory agencies, and play a key role in delivering some of the region’s most impactful projects.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and project management of civil systems for municipal water, wastewater, and/or wastewater drainage conveyance and treatment facilities

Qualifications
