Job Summary

The Senior Commission Analyst will join the Global Commission Office, a team dedicated to ensuring timely and accurate sales compensation payments globally. This role involves supporting sales teams and partners, acting as a subject matter expert for commission-related issues, and collaborating with Finance Business Partners and Sales Compensation to implement approved plans. The analyst will also contribute to standardizing processes, creating audit controls, and driving efficiency through automation.

Must Have

  • Understand and implement the Autodesk Sales Compensation Plan
  • Support the transition and setup of new standardized processes within the Global Commission Office
  • Oversee the accurate calculation and submission of variable commission earnings
  • Provide high-quality support to sales teams, meeting informational and reporting needs
  • Handle manual adjustments and ensure compliance with SOX audit requirements
  • Drive process efficiency through automation, leveraging Alteryx and analytical tools
  • Partner with cross-geo stakeholders to align deliverables and streamline operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Power BI
  • Proficiency in Alteryx

Job Description

Position Overview

Our mission is to provide timely and accurate payment of Sales Compensation to our global sales team. The commission team is a global team of highly skilled analysts with wide knowledge of end-to-end commission process for their assigned sales teams. This role will support sales teams and partners with Sales Finance Business Partners/Finance Directors for sales commission. This position is part of a larger group of the Global Commission Office and will work with peers in other GEOs to ensure global alignment. We are Sales commission experts who are a point of contact for questions relating to all commission issues, including compensation plans, calculations, and attainments. The Commission Manager will be the SME for their GEO, working with Finance Business Partners, Sales Managers, Finance Directors, and Sales Compensation to implement the approved sales compensation plan correctly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement the Autodesk Sales Compensation Plan, applying company policy to the administration of the comp plan independently
  • Support the transition and setup of a new standardized process within the Global Commission Office, consolidating fragmented workstreams from multiple functions into one global process. Creating Audit and Control processes
  • Mentor other analysts to execute and continuously improve the process
  • Oversee the accurate calculation and submission of variable commission earnings, ensuring alignment with the Sales Compensation Plan
  • Provide input into and support the rollout of changes to the commissions system
  • Manage the monthly analysis of sales attainment, investigating and explaining variances for high/low result fluctuations, and addressing any outliers
  • Provide high-quality support to the sales teams, meeting their informational and reporting needs while clearly communicating complex logic
  • Handle manual adjustments for your team and ensure compliance with SOX audit requirements
  • Drive process efficiency through automation, leveraging Alteryx and advanced analytical/reporting tools
  • Partner with cross-geo stakeholders to align deliverables, streamline operations, and ensure consistent execution
  • Identify, implement, and scale process improvements to enhance accuracy, transparency, and business impact

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, college/university or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience; mid-to-large public company, preferably with experience in Sales Commissions, Sales Operations or Finance
  • Commission experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI skills, Alteryx

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Analytical and reporting tools, Power Bi and Alteryx are required
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions)
  • Commissions Platform Experience
  • You will demonstrate a customer first approach and are willing to collaborate with sales reps and management (at all levels) to understand and resolve commissions issues
  • Able to apply judgement consistently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Works autonomously while meeting deadlines, escalating items when needed to management
  • Ability to multitask and deliver results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Must be flexible in work time, as infrequent meetings are required with other team members in different Geos
  • Must be customer service oriented and have a willingness to help sales reps and management understand and resolve commissions issues
