Senior Frontend Engineer

Plan A Technologies is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to evolve a large-scale digital platform. This role involves modernizing user-facing applications within a micro-frontend ecosystem, enabling future growth and flexibility. The engineer will contribute to new feature development and modernization, collaborating with product, design, backend, and platform teams. A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Frontend React Engineer is required.

Must Have

• At least 5+ years of experience as a Frontend React Engineer
• Design, build, and maintain frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks
• Work within a micro-frontend architecture to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions
• Collaborate with backend teams consuming Node.js-powered APIs
• Implement and manage application state using Redux, React Query, or similar tools
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• 6+ years of professional experience in frontend development

Good to Have

• Contribute to modernization efforts by refactoring or migrating legacy AngularJS (1.x) applications
• Exposure to legacy frontend frameworks, particularly AngularJS (Angular 1.x)
• Experience with feature flagging or experimentation tools such as Statsig, LaunchDarkly, or Optimizely
• Background in standardizing or scaling CSS systems across multiple applications
• Experience working in AWS-based environments or alongside cloud infrastructure teams
• Familiarity with large-scale migrations, including monolith decomposition
• Experience in high-growth, platform-centric, or post-acquisition environments

This role focuses on delivering and modernizing user-facing applications within a micro-frontend ecosystem, while enabling future growth, improved onboarding, and greater flexibility across the platform.

You will contribute to both new feature development and modernization initiatives, working alongside product, design, backend, and platform teams in a highly collaborative environment.

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience as a Frontend React Engineer to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design, build, and maintain frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks
• Work within a micro-frontend architecture to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions
• Collaborate with backend teams consuming Node.js-powered APIs
• Implement and manage application state using Redux, React Query, or similar tools
• Contribute to modernization efforts by refactoring or migrating legacy AngularJS (1.x) applications
• Partner with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality releases
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions

EXPERIENCE

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• 6+ years of professional experience in frontend development
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with React in production environments
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience working with state management libraries (Redux, React Query, etc.)
• Familiarity with micro-frontend patterns and distributed frontend systems
• Experience integrating frontend applications with Node.js-based backends
• Exposure to legacy frontend frameworks, particularly AngularJS (Angular 1.x)
• Experience with feature flagging or experimentation tools such as Statsig, LaunchDarkly, or Optimizely
• Background in standardizing or scaling CSS systems across multiple applications
• Experience working in AWS-based environments or alongside cloud infrastructure teams
• Familiarity with large-scale migrations, including monolith decomposition
• Experience in high-growth, platform-centric, or post-acquisition environments
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
