Papegames is seeking a Senior Japanese Language Expert for 'Love and Deep Space' in Shanghai. This role involves comprehensive text translation and proofreading for in-game content and overseas promotions, ensuring accuracy, authenticity, and cultural relevance. Key responsibilities include maintaining localization assets, participating in voice acting processes, and adapting strategies based on Japanese market feedback. Candidates need N1 Japanese proficiency, a bachelor's degree, and strong cultural sensitivity towards the Japanese female gaming market, along with proficiency in CAT tools.

Must Have

  • Responsible for in-game and external text translation and proofreading, ensuring accuracy, authenticity, and cultural appropriateness.
  • Responsible for overseas promotional text translation and proofreading, ensuring accuracy, authenticity, and engaging content.
  • Lead the maintenance of localization language assets and character design guidelines.
  • Participate in overseas voice acting processes, assisting with supervision and character voice confirmation.
  • Monitor player feedback, possess global risk awareness, and adjust localization strategies for the Japanese market.
  • Japanese language proficiency (N1 level or above).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Passion for games, understanding of Japanese female gaming market preferences and cultural taboos, high cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in basic office software and CAT tools (Excel, MemoQ, Xbench), and information retrieval.

Good to Have

  • Japanese major or 2+ years of study experience in Japan.
  • 3+ years of game localization experience.
  • Rich experience in female-oriented and otome games.

1. Responsible for undertaking text translation and proofreading work inside and outside the game, ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of the text and no cultural risks.

2. Responsible for undertaking overseas promotional text translation and proofreading work, ensuring the accuracy, authenticity, and fun of external promotional texts.

3. Lead the maintenance of localization-related language assets and character design guidelines, completing core localization-related work within the team.

4. Participate in overseas voice acting processes, assisting with voice acting supervision and character voice confirmation.

5. Continuously monitor player feedback from various regions, possess global risk awareness, and flexibly adjust localization strategies based on the needs of the Japanese market.

Job Requirements

1. Proficient in Japanese language (N1 level or above), bachelor's degree or above, Japanese major or 2 years or more of study experience in Japan preferred.

2. Love games, understand the preferences and cultural taboos of female users in the Japanese game market, possess high cultural sensitivity, and 3 years or more of game localization work experience preferred.

3. Rich experience in female-oriented and otome games preferred.

4. Excellent communication and summarization skills, strong stress resistance and time management awareness, able to respond to various business needs in a timely manner.

5. Proficient in various basic office software and CAT tools (especially Excel, MemoQ, Xbench, etc.), with the ability to independently retrieve information.
