This role is for a talented lawyer to join the Product & Regulatory Legal group, focusing on AI regulation. The counsel will advise engineering, operations, government affairs, and marketing teams on complex regulatory issues, analyze the applicability of regulations to products and services, manage internal legal work streams, and interact with regulators. The position requires creative problem-solving and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to support cutting-edge technologies and advise management on risk mitigation and business strategies.

You will join a team of attorneys in the Products & Regulatory Legal group who advise engineering, business and government affairs teams on complex regulatory issues, with a focus on artificial intelligence regulation. You will analyze the applicability of regulations to various products and services, manage and coordinate the internal work streams within Legal, and interact with regulators and other external stakeholders. The work requires outside-the-box thinking, versatility, and creative approaches to legal issues. You will collaborate with other legal groups, government affairs and cross-functional business and engineering teams. You will also advise management on risk allocation/mitigation, business strategies, and policies.

  • 8+ years of experience on regulatory matters, such as AI laws, privacy and data-related laws, and other digital regulations at major law firms, in-house or regulatory authorities.
  • Experience interpreting AI regulation and other European and U.S. regulations is a plus.
  • JD or equivalent and admission to at least once US state bar.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to advise and build relationships with executive management, teammates, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and business sense with the ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate collaboration by cultivating relationships and effectively counseling and communicating with legal and cross-functional partners.
  • Self-starter who is curious, loves technology, and thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume of projects.
