Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Lighting Artist to create and design lighting for complex scenes, develop the look of assets, environments, and FX elements, and ensure realistic rendering. The role involves pre-compositing in Nuke, maintaining shot quotas, and ensuring shot continuity. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in visual effects lighting, strong knowledge of Maya, Arnold, and Nuke, and experience with photo-real lighting and look development.

Must Have:
  • Create and design lighting for complex scenes.
  • Develop the look of assets, environments, and FX elements.
  • Work with supervisors, leads, and compositing team to ensure desired look and delivery.
  • Ability to self-troubleshoot renders.
  • Pre-compose shots in Nuke.
  • Maintain shot quotas set by production and leads.
  • Key-Lighting and templated shots for propagations and sequences.
  • Ability to identify problematic shots affecting delivery schedules.
  • Ensure shot continuity.
  • Over 5 years of experience in lighting in visual effects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Maya, Arnold, and Nuke.
  • Excellent understanding of rendering methods (Render Setup) and shading models.
  • Prior experience in image development tasks.
  • Experience with photorealistic lighting.
  • Must live in Montreal and have the right to work in Canada.
  • Fluency in English is required for production purposes.

  • Sustain great team dynamics.
  • Maintain shot quotas set by production and leads.
  • Key-Lighting and templated shots for propagations and sequences (Senior)
  • Ability to identify problematic shots that may affect delivery schedules and communicate concerns to leads and supervisors.
  • Ensure shot continuity.

Profil

  • 5+ years of Lighting experience in visual effects
  • Strong Knowledge of Maya, Arnold, and Nuke
  • Strong understanding of rendering methods (Render Setup) & shading models
  • Previous experience performing Look Development tasks
  • Experience of photo-real lighting
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a strong team environment
  • Experience with Shotgun an asset
  • Be comfortable with a Windows/Linux OS environment
  • Experience with Houdini (Solaris) a plus
  • Unreal Engine experience a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • Must live in Montreal and already be eligible to work in Canada. It is not possible to provide work visa or relocation assistance for this position.
  • For production purposes, fluency in English is required.
