Senior Machine Learning Engineer

The opportunity

Become part of the team behind Safe Voice, Unity’s state-of-the-art Machine Learning solution for voice analysis!

The Safe Voice team builds and deploys systems as part of Unity’s Communication and Safety offerings, so that voice chat reports can be recorded and analysed with ML models to provide actionable insights to content moderation teams and gaming studios. The team’s mission is to make voice chat safer and more engaging for everyone.

As part of the continuous development of Safe Voice, we are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to help us bring Machine Learning technologies to production and shape the insights we provide to game developers in their communities.

You, under the supervision of the Lead Engineer, will be working closely with a distributed team made up of Full stack developers, Machine Learning engineers, Data Scientists and a Product manager to build new products and features

What you'll be doing

• Translate product requirements into a technical design and implement solutions using all resources available to you, such as

• Contribute to the evaluation loop of the product and provide actionable insights for product improvement, including designing and implementing experiments, repeatable processes or frameworks for benchmarking, curating datasets from internal data and with labelling methods (vendors, automated, feedback)

• Collaborate with the Product Manager on competitive research tasks and provide technical insight on emerging technologies and techniques to keep the techstack up to date in this emerging field

• Mentor team members and be a role model in the organisation

• Collaborating across the organisation to deliver platform-level solutions, utilising your skills to figure out what to build and what to (re)-use

What we're looking for

• University education or equivalent industry experience in Data Science, Computer Science or Engineering

• Experience in translating complex product requirements with high ambiguity to business and product outcomes in a state-of-the-art dynamic environment

• Strong knowledge of relevant machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) and experience with deployment of ML models at scale

• Strong knowledge of Python

• Interest in staying up-to-date with the industry and identifying suitable ML solutions to solve business problems

You might also have

• Experience with MLOps and deployment of models at scale

• Audio processing and analysis

• Experience with Natural language processing (NLP), Deep Learning or LLM
