The Senior Manager, Optimization, Track & Playlist Marketing drives streaming growth and maximizes catalog revenue across global DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, KKBox) and short-form platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts). This role leads strategy for algorithmic visibility, track optimization, metadata, playlist placement, and short-form driven discovery, requiring deep data fluency and understanding of DSP algorithms and playlist ecosystems.

Must Have

  • Develop and execute track and playlist optimization campaigns.
  • Optimize metadata, linking, search, and playlist routing.
  • Identify and activate short-form and UGC driven opportunities.
  • Oversee optimization of official artist channels on YouTube and TikTok.
  • Use dashboards and analytics to identify trends and drive optimization.
  • Partner with data teams to build new optimization models.
  • Actively test new tools, platforms, and emerging technologies.
  • Act as senior regional counterpart for optimization and innovation.
  • Serve as DSP lead for editorial and partner teams.
  • Lead cross-functional regional workflows.
  • Deep understanding of SEO, DSP algorithms, playlist ecosystems, metadata, and editorial pitching.
  • Strong data and analytics capability for insights-led decisions.
  • 7 to 10+ years of experience in streaming, optimization, digital, or playlist marketing.
  • Proven commercial accountability and experience pacing to financial targets.
  • Comfortable working at speed, managing multiple priorities, and iterating quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Curious and proactive, scanning for emerging technologies and opportunities.

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Optimization, Track & Playlist Marketing is responsible for driving streaming growth and maximizing catalog revenue across global DSPs, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and KKBox, as well as short-form and UGC platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. The role owns catalog revenue delivery and leads strategy for algorithmic visibility, track optimization, metadata, playlist placement, and short-form driven discovery.

This role requires deep data fluency and a sophisticated understanding of DSP algorithms, playlist ecosystems, metadata structures and editorial pitching. The person in this role will continuously test and iterate optimization strategies across platforms, working closely with regional and global analytics, optimization and content teams, as well as emerging third-party partners and technology providers.

What you'll do:

Optimization and Campaign Delivery

  • Develop and execute track and playlist optimization campaigns that drive streaming growth.
  • Optimize metadata, linking, search and playlist routing to improve discoverability.
  • Identify and activate short-form and UGC driven opportunities across TikTok, Reels and Shorts, with a clear understanding of the role each plays in track discoverability.
  • Oversee optimization of official artist channels on YouTube and TikTok, ensuring content, posting cadence, playlist strategy and metadata align to platform best practices.

Data and Analytics, Test Learn Iterate

  • Use dashboards and analytics to identify trends, build hypotheses and drive ongoing optimization.
  • Partner with regional and global data teams to build new data-led optimization models and reporting frameworks.
  • Actively test new tools, third-party analytics platforms, emerging technology solutions and platform betas.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as senior regional counterpart to regional Catalogue/Optimization colleagues, advocating for optimization, new workflows, systems and innovation.
  • Serve as DSP lead for editorial and partner teams, advocating for Sony artists and catalog to drive revenue and growth.
  • Lead cross-functional regional workflows with Creative, Digital and Audience Development teams.

Who you are:

Must-have core expertise

  • Deep understanding of SEO, DSP algorithms, playlist ecosystems, metadata and editorial pitching.
  • Strong data and analytics capability, with the ability to interpret dashboards, forecast performance and make insights-led decisions.

Qualifications

  • 7 to 10+ years of experience in streaming, optimization, digital or playlist marketing (music or digital platform experience preferred).
  • Proven commercial accountability and experience pacing to financial targets.
  • Comfortable working at speed, managing multiple priorities and iterating quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Curious and proactive, consistently scanning for emerging technologies, optimization tools and third-party platform opportunities.
