Job Description

SoundCloud is seeking a Senior Manager - Creator Strategy & Operations to join its Creator business in New York. This hybrid role involves shaping strategic direction through data and insights, ensuring efficient execution of key initiatives, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will act as a strategic advisor, operator, and project manager, directly influencing strategy and execution for a $100M+ business and driving company priorities.

Must Have:
  • Support annual and semiannual planning, including revenue forecasts and KPIs.
  • Conduct analyses on churn, retention, pricing, and user growth, translating findings into recommendations.
  • Produce investigative and strategic business insights to improve operations.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Data teams on forecasting, reporting, and business case modeling.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives from scoping and planning to execution and measurement.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and stakeholder alignment for strategic initiatives.
  • Organize and run business reviews, track progress, anticipate risks, and escalate blockers.
  • Build scalable systems, processes, and reporting for business effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and frameworks for monitoring performance.
  • Act as a thought partner and sounding board to the General Manager.
  • Prepare materials for executive leadership and board reviews.
  • 6+ years in consulting, business operations, strategy, or similar analytical roles.
  • Proven experience in strategy work on ambiguous business problems and driving results.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial models, dashboards, and data insights.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills for executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel and SQL.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager - Strategy & Operations to join the Creator business! This role will be pivotal in shaping the strategic direction of the business through data and insights and ensuring efficient execution of key initiatives in close partnership with cross-functional teams.

You’ll be the Creator General Manager’s right hand: part strategic advisor, part operator, and part project manager. You will directly influence both strategy and execution for a $100M+ business, collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Finance, and work alongside senior leadership to drive company priorities. This is a hybrid role in our New York office, 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support annual and semiannual planning, including revenue forecasts, KPIs, and business reviews
  • Conduct analyses on churn, retention, pricing, and user growth; translate findings into recommendations on SKU, subscriber, and revenue strategy
  • Produce investigative and strategic business insights that improve operations and inform decision-making
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, market conditions, and the competitive landscape to guide strategy
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Data teams on forecasting, reporting, and business case modeling
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives from scoping and planning to execution and measurement, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Finance
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and stakeholder alignment for strategic initiatives
  • Organize and run monthly and weekly business reviews, establish other key business cadences and rituals, and ensure accountability by tracking progress, anticipating risks, and escalating blockers
  • Build scalable systems, processes, and reporting to help the business run more effectively
  • Create and maintain dashboards and frameworks for monitoring performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on metrics, reporting, and operating objectives
  • Act as a thought partner and sounding board to the General Manager on priorities and decisions
  • Prepare materials for executive leadership and board reviews
  • Proactively manage information flow, ensuring the General Manager is focused on the highest-impact work

Experience and Background:

  • 6+ years of experience in consulting, business operations, strategy, or a similar analytical role with significant exposure to leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Proven experience in strategy work on ambiguous business problems and driving projects that align multiple stakeholders to deliver results
  • Ability to manage ambiguous problems, work across data tools, and troubleshoot issues while collaborating effectively with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills; comfort with financial models, dashboards, and turning data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; can synthesize complexity for executives and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive; thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a high ownership builder’s mindset: eager to create structure and process where none exists
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL)
  • A deep understanding of the digital music creator landscape (e.g., monetization tools, distribution models, creator economics, and competitive platforms) is highly preferred

The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. We also offer a generous total rewards program - read more about additional benefits and perks below!
