Job Summary

The Senior Manager is responsible for managing Illumina’s Reproductive and Genetic Health (RGH) product portfolio. This role involves defining strategy, managing the product lifecycle, and leading a team of product managers, ensuring coordination and market alignment for RGH assay programs.
Must Have
- Define and maintain strategy, roadmap, and business plan for RGH assay programs.
- Partner with customer and regional marketing, medical affairs, market access teams.
- Assess market needs and gaps, opportunities and trends, and competitive landscape.
- Conduct market research, customer interviews, and competitive analysis.
- Define business cases and project proposals for new product features.
- Serve as customer advocate and product management leader for RGH development programs.
- Ensure efficiency and coordination of portfolio activities with other product managers.
- Partner with Segment and Regional Marketing teams for product updates and launches.
- Monitor product performance metrics and customer feedback.
- Manage a team of product managers; provide direction, supervision, mentoring, and career development.
- Provide vision and serve as key subject matter expert for RGH market and assays.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and partners.
- Provide input to technical platform roadmap.
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience.
- 3-6 years of Management experience.
- 5+ years in product management.
- 8+ years of experience in marketing, sales or other customer-facing role in Life Sciences or Clinical field.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% on average.

The Senior Manager is responsible for managing Illumina’s Reproductive and Genetic Health (RGH) product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Business Planning and Strategy:
- Defines and maintains the strategy, roadmap and business plan for Illumina's RGH assay programs
- Partners with customer and regional marketing, medical affairs, market access and other teams to define and obtain alignment on strategies and new program proposals
- Assesses market needs and gaps, opportunities and trends, and competitive landscape
- Conducts market research, customer interviews, and competitive analysis
- Defines business cases and project proposals for new product features
Product Lifecycle Management:
- Serves as customer advocate and product management leader for RGH development programs; helps drive market requirements and tradeoff decisions
- Ensures efficiency and coordination of portfolio activities with other product managers
- Partners with Segment and Regional Marketing teams to provide guidance, input, and support for product updates and launches
- Monitors product performance metrics and customer feedback to inform continuous improvement and strategic pivots
Team and Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Manages team of product managers; provides direction, day-to-day supervision, mentoring and career development support
- Provides vision and serves as key subject matter expert for RGH market and assays, and related strategy across the organization
- Establishes and maintains relationships with key customers and partners
- Provides input (e.g., product, service needs) to technical platform roadmap
Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, with 3-6 years of Management experience.
- BS or BA in engineering, marketing, or genomics-related field; MBA preferred
- 5+ years in product management, with continuous expansion of responsibilities 8+ years of experience in marketing, sales or other customer-facing role in Life Sciences or Clinical field; advanced degree can substitute for some work experience
- Able to travel approximately 25% on average
- Experience developing, launching and sustaining molecular tests in the LDT or IVD markets
- Strong knowledge of reproductive and genetic health molecular diagnostics testing market and applications
- Understanding of clinical customers, laboratory workflows and validation activities, from sample to result, as well as downstream activities through patient reporting
- Understanding of global regulatory and reimbursement considerations
- Knowledge of genomics and next generation sequencing, preferred
- Ability to own both long-term strategy and executional detail
- Ability to solve complex problems informed by robust analysis and multiple data points
- Experience conducting market research, survey analysis, voice of customer, and other foundational marketing and product management activities
- Experience creating market models and sales projections, and setting pricing policies
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing individuals or small teams
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, and demonstrated ability to influence across the organization at all levels
- Exceptional time and project management skills and ability to independently prioritize competing requests
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite products and business modeling
- Strong written, communication and presentation skills
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

The estimated base salary range for the Senior Manager, Product Management, Reproductive and Genetic Health role based in the United States of America is: $155,600 - $233,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
