Job Description

This role involves leading an omnichannel sales team responsible for GSA client portfolio accounts. Key objectives include developing revenue and cash flow through referencing, merchandising, promotions, and pricing, enhancing profitability, managing international agreements for relevant accounts, and developing the team's skills and capabilities. The role covers all national accounts and manages a team of National Key Accounts and Major Account Managers, focusing on strategy, client relations, action planning, financial performance, and team management.
Must Have:

  • Understand market trends and the evolution of consumption and purchasing behaviors & habits, category analysis, point-of-sale / client dynamics.
  • Define the commercial strategy for its distribution channel.

  • Develop, lead, and coordinate the annual process of planning and implementing the commercial strategy.
  • Build a solid commercial partnership at the client management level.
  • Define a Joint Business Plan with clients.
  • Be the team's privileged contact in case of internal / external blocking situations.
  • Coach & Support for the team in commercial negotiations.
  • Guarantee the consistency of the commercial policy with the company's strategic orientations.
  • Align with Marketing and Customer Development on operational activities and marketing priorities.
  • Build and align the promotional plan per brand.
  • Ensure alignment with the supply chain department and the finance department.
  • Guarantee the execution of brand activation plans and promote innovative solutions at the point of sale.
  • Manage the P&L of client accounts in line with objectives, including annual / quarterly budgeting.
  • Facilitate the sales forecasting exercise and interact with other departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of key accounts, taking into account the return on investment.
  • Team management and talent development (succession plans, hierarchical line management, training plans, coaching, performance management).

The Opportunity:

You will lead an omnichannel sales team responsible for GSA client portfolio accounts with the following objectives:

1 – Develop revenue and cash flow: Referencing – Merchandising – Promotions - Pricing

2 – Develop profitability

3 – Manage the international agreement for the accounts concerned

4 – Develop the skills and capabilities of the sales team

What Your Impact Will Be:

This role covers all national accounts and manages a team of National Key Account Managers and Major Account Managers:

1 - Strategy

  • Understand market trends and the evolution of consumption and purchasing behaviors & habits, category analysis, point-of-sale / client dynamics through strong interaction with the Studies / Business Intelligence department.
  • Define the commercial strategy for its distribution channel in coherence with the strategy of France and the group.
  • Define client strategies with the team in coherence with France's commercial policy (ensuring inter-country alignment for international accounts).
  • Develop, lead, and coordinate the annual process of planning and implementing the commercial strategy.

2 – Client Relationship

  • Build a solid commercial partnership at the client management level.
  • Define a Joint Business Plan with clients.
  • Be the team's privileged contact in case of internal / external blocking situations.
  • Coaching & Support for the team in commercial negotiations.
  • Guarantee the consistency of the commercial policy with the company's strategic orientations.

3 – Action Planning

  • Align with Marketing and Customer Development on operational activities and marketing priorities, including the selection of DI offers, exclusivities, referencing, and promotions.
  • Build and align the promotional plan per brand.
  • Ensure alignment with the supply chain department and the finance department to ensure execution with clients.
  • Guarantee the execution of our brand activation plans and promote the implementation of relevant and innovative solutions at the point of sale.

4- Financial Performance

  • Manage the P&L of client accounts in line with objectives, including annual / quarterly budgeting (promotions, commercial investments, etc.).
  • Facilitate the sales forecasting exercise and interact with other departments to share results.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of key accounts, taking into account the return on investment of expenses and commercial activities.

5- Team Management and Talent Development

  • Team management and talent development (including succession plans, hierarchical line management, training plans, coaching, performance management, etc.).
  • Promote and foster teamwork and business collaboration with the entire Sales organization, as well as with other departments in France and Europe.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in an international environment / International company with strong seasonality.
  • Omnichannel physical and online experience.
  • Sales & Negotiation skills in GMS in France.
  • Strategic thinking and tactical skills / define easily applicable action plans.
  • Results and performance oriented.
  • Customer sense and culture.
  • Strong team management skills.
  • Taste for challenge.
  • Ability to work on different projects at the same time.
  • Graduate of a university or business school (business administration or equivalent).
  • Excellent command of MS Office tools.
  • Fluent English and French, ideally bilingual.
  • Minimum 10 years in a commercial function (Can also be a buyer function in distribution).
