Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Media Planner to join our team, working on key business for Publicis Media – Stellantis (FIAT/Abarth). You will formulate media strategies and execution plans, integrating online/offline channels, and implement PDCA cycles. Working closely with the Client Lead, you will independently maintain and improve quality, including lead design, KPI setting, effectiveness simulation, and budget allocation. You will also build and maintain client relationships, recognizing issues early and leading appropriate actions.
Must have:
  • Experience providing services to global clients (e.g., strategy, plan development, and support for Stellantis)
  • Deliver best-in-class media work through close communication with Global/Regional and local clients
  • Lead general media planning work integrating on/off digital, TV, OOH, etc. based on target analysis
  • Lead media buying and overall management of operational work
  • Ability to work independently to create, propose, and implement plans
  • Client facing/presentation (including documentation)
  • Native or fluent in Japanese
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 5+ years experience in planning
  • Familiarity with the digital advertising landscape, with knowledge of the Japan market
  • Detailed understanding of key media platforms such as Meta, Twitter, TikTok, YT, and programmatic
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Detailed knowledge of media (TV, digital, etc.) and some experience in implementation
  • Able to work on site first, and to work independently to develop proposals

  • Experience collaborating with brand agencies
  • Solution development experience
  • Experience with advanced analytics such as MMM

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Sr media planner to join our team working across a key pieces of business for Publicis Media – Stellantis (FIAT/Abarth). In this role, you will be expected to formulate media strategies and execution plans integrating online/offline, and implement PDCA cycle of the measures. Working closely with the Client Lead, as the Sr media planner you will be expected to be able to work independently, and maintaining and improving quality (lead design, KPI setting, effectiveness simulation, budget allocation, etc.).

You will also be expected to build, maintain, and improve relationships with clients, along with the early recognition of issues and lead appropriate actions.

Responsibilities

■Key Responsibilities in more detail:

Strategy & Planning:

  • Experience providing services to global clients e.g. strategy, plan development, and support for Stellantis (FIAT/Abarth)
  • Deliver best in class media work through close communication with Global/Regional and local clients.
  • Lead general media planning work integrating on/off digital, TV, OOH, etc. based on target analysis using various types of data.
  • Lead media buying and overall management of operational work
  • Ability to work independently to create, propose, and implement plans
  • Client facing/presentation (including documentation)

■ Leadership & Team Management:

  • Media pitch lead and support (plan creation, proposals, process management)
  • Help develop media planning, digital planning, and communication strategy development skills within your team.
  • Lead close collaboration with external partners

■Financial Management:

  • Aid in managing and reporting on media budget spend to ensure effectiveness and ROI.
  • Assist with financial processes to guarantee precise invoicing and budget management.

■Continuous Learning:

  • Stay informed of industry trends related to your clients and its competitors.
  • Understand and apply the cultural and market-specific nuances of the Japan market to enhance campaign effectiveness.

Requirements

■Required Experience & Skills:

  • Native or fluent in Japanese
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Have at least 5+ years experience in planning.
  • Familiarity with the digital advertising landscape, with a preference for those with knowledge of the Japan market.
  • Detailed understanding of key media platforms such as Meta, Twitter, TikTok, YT, and programmatic
  • Solid analytical skills, comfortable in analyzing media reports to generate initial insights to performance
  • Able to work independently and with a positive attitude.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with team members and clients.
  • Have detailed knowledge of media (TV, digital, etc.) and some experience in implementation.
  • Able to work on site first, and to work independently to develop proposals, while involving team members in the process.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with all types of people, including non-Japanese, with respect.

■Nice to have Experience & Skills:

  • The ideal candidate would have experience collaborating with brand agencies, solution development experience, experience with advanced analytics such as MMM, experience with detailed reporting, as well as working on global clients.
