At FitXR, we’re building the future of fitness - immersive workouts which turn movement into play, not punishment. We’re for the misfits: the ones who’ve always felt a little out of place in traditional fitness spaces. This is a new kind of community where movement is inclusive and everyone belongs.
We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to bring their React expertise into the 3D world and build interactive experiences that make movement genuinely fun. You’ll be joining a small, high-trust and fully remote team who are obsessed with learning fast and helping people move because they want to, not because they should.
##### What you’ll do 👀
- Lead the tech side of features from brainstorm to release - balancing speed, polish, and player joy
- Be the go-to React expert - setting best practices, performance tuning and helping us build smarter, not harder
- Team up with Designers, Product and Unity/Backend Engineers to make VR interfaces feel seamless and alive
- Help define how we build - bringing product thinking and technical insight to every sprint
- Share knowledge, raising the overall level of code craft and collaboration
- Push the limits of our React–Unity integration to unlock even richer player experiences
##### You should apply if ✅
You’re a proactive, product-minded engineer with:
- Strong React experience in production environments
- Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, balancing delivery speed with solid engineering principles
- Experience working in small, cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication - you keep people in the loop, surface blockers early, and stay cool in chaos
- Comfort with ambiguity - you can build clarity where none exists
- Curiosity about 3D, gaming, or VR - bonus if you’ve built something weird and fun before
- Perspective of AI as a teammate, not a threat - you’re leveraging AI to speed up your workflow, generate tests and help prototype ideas faster
Nice-to-have experience:
- Some Unity or VR development - professional or hobby!
- Backend development - C# preferred
- Automated testing pipelines
##### You shouldn’t apply if ❌
- You want a 200-page spec before you start coding
- You prefer working in a giant org where decisions move slower than patch notes
- You’re allergic to collaboration or ownership
