Senior Server Developer

As a Senior Server Developer, you will own and architect online systems for mobile games, delivering fun to millions. You'll design and implement scalable backend features like tournaments and leaderboards, ensuring optimal performance. This role involves maintaining existing features, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and building a world-class network development team. You should be passionate about high-scale backend solutions and network programming, with a desire for personal growth.

What will you do?

• Own the online systems that power our games, delivering fun to millions of users.
• Design and architect new backend features that operate at a massive scale.
• Implement new online gameplay features, such as tournaments, leaderboards, and clans, working end-to-end to ensure the best player experience possible.
• Maintain and improve existing features, optimizing performance, scalability, and quality from the game feature level to the protocol level.
• Collaborate with multiple departments across the studio—gameplay, design, economy, and analysis—to deliver the best backend solutions for their needs.
• Establish the foundations and, over time, build a world-class network development team within the studio.

Requirements

• Passion for game development and network programming.
• Experience developing game backend/server solutions.
• Experience working on multi-threaded systems.
• Experience in SQL, DDL, query planning, and general database architecture.
• Experience working with microservices architecture.
• A creative problem solver, able to quickly learn and utilize unfamiliar concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team.
