Job Summary

This Senior Software Engineer role at SS&C GIDS involves developing and maintaining Superannuation Registry, Integration, and Digital Portal platforms. Responsibilities include designing and developing robust software services using COBOL, Java, VB .NET, and PL/SQL, collaborating with product owners, and troubleshooting technical issues. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science with 7+ years of experience in software development, strong understanding of technical platforms like Wintel, Linux, Unix, and SDLC tools such as Docker, Git, SVN, and expertise in SQL and PL/SQL.

Must Have

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software services.
  • Utilize programming languages including COBOL, Java, VB .NET, PL/SQL.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, and other developers.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across environments.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning.
  • Produce technical documentation and artefacts relevant to IT service management processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science (mandatory).
  • 7+ years of experience in software development and maintenance in a corporate environment.
  • Thorough understanding and hands-on experience of Wintel, Linux, Unix platforms.
  • Thorough understanding and hands-on experience of SDLC tools including Docker, Git, SVN.
  • Thorough understanding and hands-on experience creating and maintaining SQL queries, scripts, and PL/SQL programs.
  • Hands-on experience in solution design, application profiling, debugging, and performance tuning.

What You Will Get to Do:

  • Developer, within a domain team for the development Superannuation Registry, Integration and Digital Portal platforms.
  • You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable software services using various programming languages including COBOL, Java, VB .NET, PL/SQL
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, and other developers to deliver solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across environments
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimation
  • Produce technical documentation and artefacts relevant to and required for IT service management processes (including Incident, Change and Problem Management)

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science (mandatory) with 7+ years of experience in software development and maintenance in a corporate
  • In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable software services using various programming languages including COBOL, Java, VB .NET, PL/SQL
  • Thorough understanding and hands-on experience of the relevant technical platforms (Wintel, Linux, Unix) and relevant SDLC tools including Docker, Git, SVN
  • Thorough understanding and hands-on experience creating and maintaining SQL queries, scripts and PL/SQL programs that allow you to service our business’ needs.
  • Hands-on experience in solution design, application profiling, debugging, and performance tuning
  • Understanding of Superannuation products and services and the way these operate in today’s highly integrated and regulated environment
