Job Summary

As a senior member of a dynamic, distributed team, you will solve complex problems at the intersection of distributed systems, data modeling, and security. Must Have
- Design and implement major platform capabilities using Java (Spring) and Golang
- Author ADRs/RFCs and guide technical reviews
- Drive performance improvements and optimize latency for high-volume NoSQL solutions
- Lead incident response and cross-team integrations
- Mentor team members and establish best practices
- Write maintainable code and perform code reviews
- Lead technical initiatives on large-scale, high-volume platforms
- Experience with Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases
- Proficiency in systems thinking and distributed systems debugging
Good to Have
- Experience with Identity standards (OAuth, OpenID, Zanzibar-style authorization, ReBAC)
- Familiarity with platform tools and developer-friendly APIs/SDKs
- Knowledge of observability, metrics, and incident response
- Experience with container orchestration, CI/CD, gRPC, message queues
- Understanding of security fundamentals and threat modeling

Job Description
Location Details:
At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.
GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

What you'll get to do…
- Technical Leadership: Design and implement major platform capabilities using Java (Spring) and Golang; author ADRs/RFCs and guide technical reviews.
- Performance & Reliability: Drive performance improvements, establish SLOs, optimize latency for high-volume NoSQL solutions, and lead incident response.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Lead integrations with product teams, create technical documentation, and apply modern identity standards (OAuth, OpenID).
- Mentorship: Mentor team members, reduce operational toil through automation, and establish best practices.
- Quality & Innovation: Write maintainable code, perform code reviews, and propose innovative solutions.
Your experience should include…
- Leading technical initiatives on large-scale, high-volume platforms.
- Strong backend development in Java (Spring) and Golang.
- Performance optimization in distributed systems.
- Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL database experience.
- Technical design documentation (RFCs/ADRs) and architectural leadership.
- Systems thinking and distributed systems debugging.
You may also have…

GoDaddy's target compensation is determined based on your location and varies based on an individual's qualifications, skills and experience at the time of the offer. For this role, our targeted base pay ranges for new hires in each US Group are:
- Group 1: $96,500.00 – $144,500.00
- Group 2: $108,000.00 – $162,000.00
- Group 3: $114,800.00 – $172,200.00
- Group 4: $125,000.00 – $188,000.00
