Job Summary
PlayStation is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join their agile Dev Team in San Mateo, CA. This role involves designing and developing highly scalable React/React-Native/Javascript applications for the front-end and Java/JS/GraphQL for the backend, specifically for the PS5 console. The engineer will collaborate with UX designers and Product Management, resolve defects, optimize code, and contribute to continuous software improvement within a diverse global team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
Must Have
- Design and develop end-to-end React/React-Native/Javascript applications.
- Develop backend using Java/JS/GraphQL for PS5 console.
- Collaborate with UX designers and Product Management.
- Investigate and resolve reported defects.
- Work on continuous improvement of software.
- Own sharable features and components.
- Ability to support and develop SDK/Sample Programs in native C++ code.
- Ability to develop server components.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Solid understanding of OOP, Data Structures, and Design Patterns.
- 3+ years of experience in designing and developing apps and services integration.
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JSON.
- Working knowledge/experience with C/C++.
- Experience in Java or other server programming languages like Python.
- Passion for quality and writing clean, readable, scalable, and performant code.
Good to Have
- Familiarity with React, React Native, Node.js, and Restful APIs.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Built Cloud-based applications or services, preferably in AWS.
- Built GraphQL-based applications.
- Experience working in Gaming, Digital Media Services, Device Software.
- Experience working with a large multi-cultural team.

Sr. Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

We are looking for a full-stack software engineer to join our agile high-performance Dev Team and contribute to the Best Place to Play. You will apply your software development skills and Web technologies to delight our users with innovative features. You will work and collaborate daily with a diverse team dedicated to excellence, inclusion, and fun. Responsibilities:
- Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to design and develop end-to-end React/React-Native/Javascript-based applications in the front-end, or Java/JS/Graph QL in the backend, delivering highly scalable applications running on the PS5 console.
- Collaborate with UX designers and Product Management on requirements.
- Investigate and Resolve reported Defects and work with the QE team members to close on the issues.
- Work on continuous improvement of software, by profiling, refactoring and optimizing the code.
- Work with limited supervision under tight time constraints and respond to rapidly evolving requirements.
- Own sharable features and components across several projects and be accountable for the results.
- Ability to support and develop SDK/Sample Programs in native C++ code as needed
- Ability to develop server components
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will be evaluated.
- Solid base in Computer Science, understanding of OOP, Data Structures, and Design Patterns.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- 3+ years of experience with designing and developing apps, plus experience in services integration.
- Strong programming skills using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JSON. Working knowledge/Some Experience with C/C++
- Experience in Java or other server programming languages like Python
- Passionate about quality and writing clean, readable code that scales and performs well.
- A collaborative teammate, a fast learner, with a positive and can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with popular JavaScript UI frameworks, React and React Native, Node.js, and Restful APIs.
- Works with Docker and Kubernetes in current role
- Built and developed Cloud-based applications or services, preferably in AWS
- Built and developed GraphQL-based applications
- Experience working in Gaming, Digital Media Services, Device Software.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. $193,300 - $289,900 USD
