In this role, you will leverage your DevOps approach and technical skills to foster communication, integration, and automation across all phases of software development for IGT systems. You will act as a DevOps specialist, contributing to development projects and maintenance by providing robust infrastructure and automation for continuous integration, unit testing, and releasing. Collaborating with a multi-site team, you will build fully automated CI/CD pipelines, take ownership of build and test management frameworks, storage, and monitoring, and continuously seek improvements to enhance software development processes and deliver high-quality software.

  • Define, implement, build, and test improvements for effective software development processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in SW Engineering, Informatics, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Software Development, preferably within DevOps teams.
  • At least 2 years of experience with object-oriented software development.
  • Proficiency in C#, C++, Python, Perl, and PowerShell.
  • Experience with common Continuous Integration technologies (Jenkins, TFS build, ADS).
  • Experience in software development methodologies and frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, and V-model.
  • Experience in configuration management (version control, build, release, change management).
  • Experience with IT-infrastructure and operations.

Senior Software Technologist - DevOps

In this role, you have the opportunity to enable your DevOps approach and the technical skills to provide communication, integration, automation, and close partnership among all the people needed to plan, develop, test, deploy, release, and maintain software for our IGT systems.

Your Role:

  • Participate as the DevOps specialist in the development projects and maintenance activities to deliver the best infrastructure and automation for continuous integration, continuous (unit) testing and releasing.
  • Teaming up with other DevOps engineers in a multi-site team and create full automated CICD pipelines for different product development projects within IGT-S.
  • Take ownership for setting up build and test management frameworks, storage management, monitoring activities, etc.
  • Don’t take everything for granted but seek and propose improvement opportunities which preferably can be implemented with incremental steps.
  • Be able to understand quickly existing implementations and concepts and extend or improve where needed.
  • Define, implement, build and test improvements that enable effective software development processes and high quality of software deliverables taking into account maintenance responsibility for released products over a range of 10+ years.

You are a part of The Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGT-S) development organization consists of 450 people, from which 110 people work in software development. Software is developed by teams, each focusing on a specific part of the system. The global DevOps team is responsible for the Software Development Infrastructure that includes Software Sets, Version Control, Tool validation, IT Security and frameworks for continuous integration, continuous (unit) testing and releasing. By ways of automation, the relatively small team is able to support all IGT system projects including the entire software development community.

You are fit if:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in SW Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Software Development, preferably within DevOps teams.
  • Solid understanding and at least 2 years of experience with object-oriented software development.
  • Experience with C#, C++ and scripting languages like Python, Perl and PowerShell.
  • Experience with common Continuous Integration technologies. (Jenkins, TFS build, ADS)
  • Experience with TDD is a plus.
  • Experience in software development methodologies and frameworks such as Agile, Scrum and V-model.
  • Experience in configuration management (configuration items identification, version control, build management, release management, change management)
  • Eager to learn and work with the latest (and legacy) technologies and tools.
  • Great team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate with developers and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with IT-infrastructure and operations.
  • A ‘lean” person who embraces change and continuously seeks improvements and ways to reduce ‘waste’.
  • Experience in working in a Healthcare Product development environment is an advantage.

How we work together:

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This role is an office-based role.
