Sledgehammer Games is seeking a Senior Technical Dialog Designer to enhance the aural experience for their next AAA project. The role involves collaborating with Dialog, Narrative, and Engineering Teams, designing and iterating on proprietary dialog tools, and implementing and debugging in-game dialog assets. Must Have

  • Collaborate with Dialog, Narrative, and Engineering Teams.

  • Experience in linear and interactive dialog systems.

  • Understand PS5, XBOX One/Series X, and PC audio functionality.
  • Experience with major digital audio workstations.
  • Experience with Wwise and Fmod middleware.

Your Mission

Sledgehammer Games is looking for a Senior Technical Dialog Designer to help create a fresh new AAA aural experience for our next project. Candidates should be versed in dialog editing and processing techniques and have a general knowledge of dialog pipelines. You will report to our Dialog Director and help ensure delivery of the highest quality dialog with the use of internally developed proprietary tools.

  • Collaborate with the Dialog, Narrative and Engineering Teams, ensuring excellent inter-departmental communication and alignment of goals.
  • Design features and iterate on proprietary Dialog Tool and Database.
  • Dialog asset implementation using proprietary tools.
  • Test and debug all in-game dialog for multiple implementation pipelines.
  • Edit and process dialog assets for all aspects of our game.
  • Apply studio and departmental best practices of dialog workflows and systems.
  • Inspire teamwork and collaboration inside and outside the Audio Dept.

Player Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of game dialog.
  • Expertise in proprietary/third party Dialog Tools and Databases.
  • Experience in both linear and interactive dialog systems.
  • Minimum five years of experience in game audio development.
  • Shipped at least two major titles.
  • Understanding of PS5, XBOX One/Series X, and PC audio functionality, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Experience with major digital audio workstations.
  • Experience with middleware programs such as Wwise and Fmod.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Continuing Education Certificate, Professional or advanced degree in programming, audio engineering, or similar preferred.

Bonus XP

  • FPS/Multi-player experience a plus.

The standard base pay range for this role is $128,000–$169,000 CAD. This represents the expected annualized base salary for new hires in this position and for the Ontario location listed, in accordance with the Ontario Pay Transparency Act. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, performance, and work location. For hourly positions, the range shown is the annual expected base pay, based on 40 hours per week. In addition to competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation and benefits. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
