Senior Technology Consultant - Financial Sector

As a Senior Technology Consultant in the Financial Sector at PwC, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team solving complex client issues within the context of large IT transformations. You will advise the management of leading financial institutions on strategic and operational technology issues, and guide the implementation of advice. Projects range from a few months to two years, primarily for large banks, insurers, asset managers, and pension providers, focusing on IT landscape modernization, business model digitalization, and pension contract transitions.

Must Have

• Fluent in English
• Fluent in Dutch
• 2 to 6 years of work experience in technology consultancy
• Experience with IT strategy, data architecture, and/or cloud transformations
• Experience and affinity with the Financial Sector
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Econometrics, or another STEM discipline with clear affinity for technology

Job Description & Summary

As a Senior Technology Consultant in the Financial Sector at PwC, you are part of a multidisciplinary team with the goal of solving complex client issues within the context of large IT transformations.

You advise the management of leading financial institutions on strategic and operational technological issues. In addition to advising on an IT problem, you also guide the implementation of the advice.

Projects vary from a few months to two years. Most clients are large banks, insurers, asset managers, and pension providers. This includes modernizing the IT landscape of banks, digitizing the business models of insurers, and assisting pension providers with the transition to the new pension contract.

This is what you will do

You are part of the Financial Services Cloud & Digital team and work closely with experienced colleagues; each brings their own unique expertise to solve the challenges of our clients. A preview of the client questions and dynamic projects you will dive into:

• Analyze the technology landscape and business goals of clients: facilitate interviews and workshops, map current architectures, and identify bottlenecks and quick wins for cloud adoption and digital capabilities;
• Shape the future state and migration roadmap: co-create target architectures for core banking and insurance platforms, develop phased migration waves, budget estimates, and risk mitigation plans;
• Translate strategy into tangible results: build business cases, draw up RFP requirements, evaluate vendor solutions, and design proof-of-concepts that quickly validate value;
• Collaborate with leading vendors and fintechs: conduct joint design sessions, align with reference architectures, and ensure integration, security, and compliance standards are met;
• Facilitate client capacity building: define target organizational models, conduct knowledge transfer sessions, create playbooks and runbooks, and guide change management activities.

In addition, you play a crucial role in advancing our business by researching emerging technological trends, refining our service propositions, and contributing to the development and delivery of training programs. You coach junior colleagues on the job and foster a collaborative learning culture.

This is where you recognize yourself

• Fluent in English and Dutch;
• 2 to 6 years of work experience with technology consultancy within a comparable technology consultancy company;
• Experience with IT strategy, data architecture, and/or cloud transformations;
• Experience and affinity with the Financial Sector;
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Econometrics, or another STEM discipline with clear affinity for technology.
