Apple Hardware Operations is seeking a Simulation Tools and Automation Engineer to develop robust, efficient, and scalable automated simulation workflows. This role involves leveraging simulation vendor software APIs (ANSYS, Cadence) and Python to create seamless automation. The engineer will optimize workflows for performance, explore machine learning for predictive models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to impact products like iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Good To Have:
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with ability to optimize and scale workflows.
  • Experience with ML concepts and libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Familiarity with web frameworks/services for dashboards, UIs, or workflow services.
  • Prior experience with Agile methodology.

Must Have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in EE, CS or related field with 3+ years relevant industry experience in simulation automation or software engineering.
  • Strong background in automation workflows and scripting.
  • Experience with simulation vendor software: Ansys, Cadence or related.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, including workflow orchestration, and API integration.
  • Solid working knowledge of Linux-based development environments, shell scripting, and HPC systems.
  • Experience with software engineering best practices (Git, testing, documentation).
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and communicate results clearly.

As a core member of the development team, you will be responsible for the development, deployment and maintenance of automated simulation workflows using Python. Use simulation vendor software (ANSYS, Cadence or related) APIs to create seamless automated simulation workflows. Collaborating with the internal customer success team and key stakeholders, employ an agile software development methodology to ensure that automated simulation workflows align with user requirements and are deployed promptly. Optimize simulation workflows for performance and scalability, enabling efficient execution of large-scale simulations. Explore the use of machine learning techniques to develop predictive models based on simulation data and test data Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in simulation techniques, scripting languages, simulation vendor software APIs, and relevant machine learning algorithms.. Present simulation results, workflow improvements, and recommendations to engineering teams and management.
