Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our Research & Technology (TRT-SG) team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of advancing cutting-edge quantum RF sensing technologies, working on tasks such as simulations on thermal and EMI/EMC of cryocooling systems and experimental characterization of quantum superconducting electronic chips. You will actively contribute to research projects from conceptualization to prototype development, collaborating with interdisciplinary experts to achieve transformative technological breakthroughs with practical applications in defense, communications, and precision measurement.
Good To Have:
  • Basic knowledge in thermal simulation, EMI/EMC principles, or quantum device characterization is desirable.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, MATLAB, or similar platforms is a plus.
Must Have:
  • Perform thermal simulations of cryocooling systems to analyze heat transfer and system performance.
  • Conduct EMI/EMC simulations to assess electromagnetic compatibility of cryogenic hardware.
  • Analyze simulation and experimental data to support hardware design improvements.
  • Hands-on design, build and test of hardware prototypes to validate their performance and functionality.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams, to advance R&D goals.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions, industrial partners, and government agencies to transition research into practical applications.
  • Plan and manage R&D projects, including defining objectives, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, progress reports, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Contribute to TRT-SG research work products and knowledge sharing through potential patents, external and Group internal conferences and presentations, publications etc.
  • Bachelor/Master/Ph.D. in Physics or engineering related discipline.
  • Good understanding of quantum mechanics, semiconductor technologies, and RF Photonics.
  • Knowledge of transitioning technologies from low TRL research to high TRL prototypes.
  • Proven ability to work independently, formulate research plans and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Preparation and review of analysis presentations and reports.
  • Presentation of analysis results at internal and external working group meetings.
  • Support collaborative research efforts with other team members.

As part of our dynamic R&T team, you will actively contribute to research projects from conceptualization to prototype development, collaborating with interdisciplinary experts to achieve transformative technological breakthroughs with practical applications in defense, communications, and precision measurement. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills in simulation and hands-on experimental techniques, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge quantum sensing technologies with real-world applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thermal simulations of cryocooling systems to analyze heat transfer and system performance.
  • Conduct EMI/EMC simulations to assess electromagnetic compatibility of cryogenic hardware.
