Job Summary
Join CAE’s Simulator Technician team in Burgess Hill, working on advanced simulators. This varied role offers exposure to modern simulators, systems, and equipment, promoting continuous learning and career progression. The Simulator Technician II will perform complex assignments, diagnose and correct simulator and aircraft systems problems, conduct preventive maintenance, and provide customer service support, ensuring high operational standards.
Must Have
- Perform complex assignments in office, on site, field, and laboratory
- Solve a variety of complex simulator and/or aircraft systems problems
- Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems
- Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems
- Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities
- Complete all designated training activities
- Perform pre-flight and post flight on designated simulators
- Perform basic visual alignments
- Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG)
- Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications
- Learn and comply with CAE quality management system
- Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner
- Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required
- Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation
- Perform administrative tasks as required
- Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required
- 2-year technical degree or 4 years in an electronic, avionic or technical related field
- Proficiency with all types of test equipment
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
- Ability to interpret system prints and schematics
- Proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.)
- Knowledge in analogue and digital theory
- Computer literate (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture)
- Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs
- Fluency in English

- Direct simulator experience
- Some Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite

About This Role
Join the Simulator Technician team based in Burgess Hill, working on the most advanced simulators in the world. Due to the unrivalled range of simulators at our training centre, your role will be incredibly varied, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide range of the most modern simulators, systems, and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge.

Our team has opportunities across all levels within the function, so there is a progression path available beyond this position.
In this role, the Simulator Technician II will be expected to:
- Perform complex assignments in office, on site, field, and laboratory.
- Projects may be of experimental or design nature.
- Solve a variety of complex simulator and/or aircraft systems problems.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
- Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
- Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
- Complete all designated training activities.
- Perform pre-flight and post flight on designated simulators.

Our ideal candidate has:
- 2-year technical degree or 4 years in an electronic, avionic or technical related field.
- Direct simulator experience however candidates without this will still be considered.
- Proficiency with all types of test equipment.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
- Ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
