Job Summary

CAE is seeking a UAV Maintenance Instructor to train and guide maintenance technicians on Edge Autonomy Penguin C VTOL and DJI M30T UAV systems. The role involves developing and delivering comprehensive training programs, conducting hands-on sessions, and ensuring operational readiness, safety, and performance. The instructor will also provide technical oversight, ensure regulatory compliance, manage training resources, and report on activities, contributing to CAE's high standards in aviation and mission-critical operations.

Must Have

Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for UAV maintenance.
Conduct hands-on training sessions, workshops, and classroom instruction.
Evaluate trainees' performance and provide constructive feedback.
Provide expert guidance on UAV diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair.
Stay updated on latest technological advancements and incorporate into training.
Ensure all training activities adhere to CAE's quality standards, OEM guidelines, and aviation regulations.
Maintain accurate records of training sessions, certifications, and trainee progress.
Conduct periodic assessments for safety and operational standards compliance.
Manage training resources, including spare parts, tools, and consumables.
Coordinate procurement processes in alignment with budgetary and operational requirements.
Prepare detailed reports on training activities, trainee performance, and system maintenance issues.
Act as the primary liaison between the training team and operational stakeholders.
Provide input to leadership on resource needs, challenges, and process improvement opportunities.
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with day to day running of the department and deputise in his absence.
5+ years of experience in UAV or aerospace maintenance, including at least 2 years in a training or instructional role.

Good to Have

Experience with Edge Autonomy Penguin C VTOL and DJI M30T systems is highly desirable.
GOLD system knowledge an advantage.
Knowledge of RSAF Maintenance Publications an advantage.

The successful candidate will train and guide maintenance technicians to ensure the operational readiness, safety, and performance of these UAV systems. This role involves developing training programs, conducting hands-on training sessions, and ensuring adherence to CAE's high standards in aviation and mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Training and Instruction

Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for the maintenance of Edge Autonomy Penguin C VTOL and DJI M30T systems.
Conduct hands-on training sessions, workshops, and classroom instruction to enhance technicians' skills and knowledge.
Evaluate trainees' performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure proficiency in maintenance tasks.

Technical Oversight

Provide expert guidance on the diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of UAV systems, including avionics, propulsion, and payload components.
Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and incorporate them into training materials and practices.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support system upgrades and modifications.

Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance

Ensure all training activities adhere to CAE's quality standards, OEM guidelines, and aviation regulations.
Maintain accurate records of training sessions, certifications, and trainee progress.
Conduct periodic assessments to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Inventory and Resource Management

Manage training resources, including spare parts, tools, and consumables, to support effective training sessions.
Coordinate procurement processes in alignment with budgetary and operational requirements.
Reporting and Communication
Prepare detailed reports on training activities, trainee performance, and system maintenance issues.
Act as the primary liaison between the training team and operational stakeholders.
Provide input to leadership on resource needs, challenges, and opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

5+ years of experience in UAV or aerospace maintenance, including at least 2 years in a training or instructional role.
Experience with Edge Autonomy Penguin C VTOL and DJI M30T systems is highly desirable.
GOLD system knowledge an advantage
Knowledge of RSAF Maintenance Publications an advantage

Certifications and Skills

Relevant certifications in UAV or aviation maintenance (e.g., A&P License, OEM-specific training).
Expertise in UAV systems, including propulsion, avionics, payloads, and ground control stations.
Strong knowledge of aviation safety and maintenance standards, such as AS9100 or FAA Part 145.
Proficiency in maintenance management software, diagnostic tools, and technical documentation.

Soft Skills

Proven instructional capabilities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in diverse operational settings.
