Job Description

As a Junior Site Reliability Engineer at NCR Atleos, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and observability of transaction processing and settlement platforms across on-prem and cloud environments. This role involves monitoring, automation, and incident response, working in shifts for 24x7 operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement. You will support infrastructure, manage certificates, implement CI/CD, and adhere to security and ITIL best practices.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with middleware and automation tools like ActiveBatch, RabbitMQ, UiPath, and Tibco
  • Ability to assist in designing and maintaining scalable, secure infrastructure
  • Experience in implementing, monitoring, and managing CI/CD pipelines

Must Have:
  • Basic understanding of Financial Services or Settlement Systems
  • Experience with IT management tools like ServiceNow or JIRA
  • Solid knowledge of IT hardware, networking, operating systems, and Active Directory
  • Ability to configure and support Microsoft IIS or Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, .NET, or JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic)
  • Understanding of ITIL practices and incident/change management workflows
  • Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support

As a Junior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and observability of our transaction processing and settlement platforms across both on-prem and cloud environments. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in monitoring, automation, and incident response, and who is eager to grow in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. You will work in shifts to support 24×7 operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of Financial Services or Settlement Systems.
  • IT Management Tools: Use ServiceNow or JIRA for incident and task management.
  • Infrastructure: Solid knowledge of IT hardware, networking, operating systems, and Active Directory.
  • Web Servers: Configure and support Microsoft IIS or Apache Tomcat.
  • Cloud Experience: Work with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Certificate Management: Handle the issuance, renewal, and management of SSL certificates.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, .NET, or JavaScript.
  • Application Performance/System Monitoring: Ensure high availability and reliability using tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, AppDynamics, DotCom, Prometheus, Grafana, or NewRelic.
  • Middleware Tools: Support middleware and automation tools like ActiveBatch, RabbitMQ, UiPath, and Tibco.
  • Infrastructure Design: Assist in designing and maintaining scalable, secure infrastructure.
  • Release Management: Implement, monitor, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaboration: Work with development teams for smooth application delivery.
  • Security: Follow security best practices and address vulnerabilities.
  • 24/7 Support: Provide on-call support for critical issues.
  • Support patching, audit readiness, and secure configuration practices across platforms.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions to improve system reliability, reduce alert fatigue, and enhance team productivity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance system performance and scalability.
  • Knowledge Management: Document and share knowledge effectively.
  • ITIL Framework: Follow ITIL best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of experience in infrastructure operations, system administration, or SRE-related roles.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, SolarWinds).
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS).
  • Understanding of ITIL practices and incident/change management workflows.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to work in a 24×7 support environment and learn continuously.
