Software Architecture Lead IVI (m/f/d)

Job Summary

Valeo is seeking a Software Architecture Lead IVI (m/f/d) in Garching to design and coordinate IVI software architecture. The role involves ensuring robust system architecture, aligning with overall system constraints, addressing customer architectural topics, and reviewing software requirements. The lead will also document high-level software designs, lead cross-functional alignment, identify technical risks, and support design reviews to ensure interoperability across all subsystems for autonomous and connected driving solutions.

Must Have

  • Coordinate IVI software architecture design with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure robust IVI system architecture and alignment with overall system constraints and budgets
  • Address architectural topics with the customer and drive required design changes
  • Review software requirements and support requirement management for consistency and traceability
  • Document high-level software designs and ensure complete traceability and coverage
  • Lead cross-functional architecture alignment across system, hardware, mechanical, and software disciplines
  • Identify technical risks in the architecture and support mitigation strategies
  • Support design reviews, enforce standards, and secure interoperability across all subsystems
  • Extensive experience in automotive software architecture, including IVI and multi-ECU systems
  • Strong knowledge of IVI domains such as media, connectivity, navigation, HMI, and SOA-based architectures
  • Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols including CAN, CAN-FD, SOME/IP, DoIP, and V2X
  • Hands-on expertise with embedded platforms such as Qualcomm or NVIDIA and OS environments like Android, QNX, Linux, or Hypervisors
  • Proven ability to analyze software requirements and derive clear architectural specifications
  • Experience with ASPICE, ISO 26262 (ASIL B or higher), and passing SWE2 or equivalent audits
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide technical teams and manage external suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical topics for stakeholders
