Job Description

As a Software Engineer (M/F/D) at Adtran, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the entire software development lifecycle of Adtran Infrastructure Monitoring (AIM) products. This includes designing, analyzing requirements, developing, implementing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software solutions. The role involves working on software product development, device and network layer software architecture, proof-of-concepts, and providing post-release support for fiber monitoring devices and software that help operators quickly isolate faults and take targeted action.
Must have:
  • University degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering
  • First experience with Rust programming language
  • Familiarity with agile development
  • Skills in algorithms, data structures, databases, microservices
  • Innovative, motivated team player
  • Fluent in oral and written English
Good to have:
  • Hands-on experience developing cloud-native software

As a Software Engineer (M/F/D), you will be part of a young and dynamic team responsible for designing, analyzing requirements, developing, implementing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software solutions for Adtran Infrastructure Monitoring (AIM) products. This includes, but is not limited to: software product development, device and network layer software architecture, proof-of-concepts, and post-release support.

The Adtran Infrastructure Monitoring (AIM) Product Unit is responsible for Adtran’s ALM series of fiber monitoring devices and software, which provide proactive fiber monitoring solutions. These help network infrastructure operators quickly isolate faults and take immediate, targeted action.

Principle duties and essential functions

  • Development and maintenance of AIM software products

  • Participate in software architecture and design discussions 

  • Design Proof-of-Concepts on forward-looking technologies

  • Regularly present new ideas to internal and external stakeholders 

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related area 

  • First experience with Rust programming language 

  • Familiarity with agile software development strategies and project management tools 

  • Strong skills in algorithms, data structures, databases and microservices architecture 

  • Hands-on experience of developing cloud-native software is a plus 

  • Innovative, highly motivated team player 

  • Fluent in oral and written English
