Job Summary

This position is responsible for civil engineering design, analysis, and calculation for large or highly complex site/area development projects, requiring advanced professional technical skills in hydrology/water conservancy. The role operates independently, serving as a technical expert in theme park civil engineering design, organizing project design standards, estimates, and plans. It involves providing technical guidance, monitoring work progress, ensuring technical quality, cross-disciplinary coordination, and compliance with department standards, as well as reviewing work and resolving on-site issues.

Must Have

  • Technical expert in theme park civil engineering design.
  • Responsible for civil engineering design, analysis, and calculation for site development projects.
  • Organize and develop project design standards, estimates, and work plans.
  • Provide administrative and technical guidance to engineers, designers, and consultants.
  • Supervise work progress to ensure technical quality and cross-disciplinary coordination.
  • Monitor work execution against project design schedule, budget, and earned value.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental standards, processes, and specifications.
  • Conduct peer reviews of work products from other department members.
  • Familiarity with Disney Imagineering (WDI) design standards.
  • Answer questions during construction bidding and resolve on-site issues.
  • Hold a professional registration certificate in civil or structural/geotechnical engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 10 years of civil/structural/geotechnical engineering work experience.
  • Experience in preparing and using design drawings and specifications for large projects.
  • Design experience in outdoor engineering systems, site leveling, drainage, and underground pipelines.
  • Construction phase experience, familiar with submittal/shop drawing review and on-site inspection.
  • Experience with statutory declarations and communication with government departments.
  • Engineering design and analysis experience in drainage, site slope, underground pipelines, and site leveling.
  • Extensive knowledge of structural engineering disciplines, industry practices, and codes.
  • Extensive knowledge of CAD, Civil 3D design techniques, and BIM technology (Revit).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in managing engineering consultants to advance design delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and designers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and good interpersonal skills.

Job Description

Overall Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for civil engineering design, analysis, and calculation for large or highly complex site/area development projects. These projects require the application of advanced professional technical skills (in hydrology/water conservancy) within the civil engineering function, and the role can be performed independently without supervision.

Core Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical expert in the field of theme park civil engineering design.
  • Responsible for civil engineering design, analysis, and calculation for site development projects of varying complexity.
  • Organize and develop project design standards, engineering design estimates, design basis, and engineering work plans.
  • Provide administrative and technical guidance to in-house engineers, designers, and external consultants during the preparation of construction contract documents.
  • Supervise work progress to ensure technical quality, cross-disciplinary coordination, and production requirements are met.
  • Monitor work execution against project design schedule, budget, and earned value.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental standards, processes, and specifications, and conduct peer reviews of work products from other department members.
  • Be fully familiar with relevant Disney Imagineering (WDI) design standards and be able to edit civil sections based on WDI master specifications.
  • Answer questions during the construction bidding phase and respond to and resolve on-site issues as needed.

Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Hold a professional registration certificate in civil or structural/geotechnical engineering.
  • Graduated from an accredited engineering institution with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering.
  • An advanced degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of civil/structural/geotechnical engineering work experience, with experience in preparing and using design drawings and specifications for large commercial or industrial projects.
  • Experience in design related to outdoor engineering systems, site leveling, drainage, and underground pipeline coordination.
  • Experience in the construction phase, familiar with submittal/shop drawing review processes, and on-site inspection experience.
  • Experience with statutory declarations and communication with government departments.

Technical and Leadership Capabilities:

  • Possess engineering design and analysis experience in drainage, site slope design, underground pipelines, and site leveling design.
  • Extensive knowledge of structural engineering disciplines, including industry practices, construction methods and materials, codes, cutting-edge technologies, and the preparation and use of contract documents at all stages of design and construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of CAD, Civil 3D design techniques, and BIM technology (Revit software).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and efficiently in a highly collaborative multidisciplinary project team environment.
  • Experience in managing engineering consultants to advance design delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and designers to complete construction document preparation throughout the entire design phase of complex projects.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills, and good interpersonal skills.
