Job Summary

Renesas is seeking a Sr Staff Project/Program Design Manager for its central engineering group and CTO office to lead multi-site MCU chip development. This role involves driving complex chip projects from planning to post-silicon phases, collaborating across software, marketing, and engineering teams. The manager will deploy best program management practices, monitor progress, report to senior management, and ensure project gate reviews and meeting cadences are maintained to resolve issues efficiently.

Must Have

  • Drive the Project development for complex chips from Planning to post-silicon phase on schedule.
  • Collaborate closely across multiple departments such as Software Teams, Marketing, Engineering, and Customers during project development.
  • Deploy best Program Management Practices: Bottoms-up planning, Dependency mapping, Critical path analysis and Risk mitigation using industry standard planning tools such as MS-Project for Project planning and execution.
  • Monitor the Project development progress and report the status on a regular basis and escalate issues whenever needed.
  • Provide regular Project updates to the Senior Management.
  • Co-ordinate and Conduct Project Gate reviews.
  • Ensure proper project meeting cadence is in place and with regular follow-ups on ALL Action Items to resolve any open issues.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of project management experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven track record of managing complex programs spanning across multiple departments.
  • Expertise in program management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive decisions across global teams.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office 365 including advanced skills in MS Project.
  • Proficiency in Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.

Job Description

Qualifications

We have adopted a hybrid model that gives employees the ability to work remotely two days a week while ensuring that we come together as a team in the office the rest of the time. The designated in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday for innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
