About the Team:
This role is for Hosted Display team where the team size is 14. The team you will join is responsible for building the next generation of consumer-facing displays that serve billions of page views a month on sites you've most certainly heard of.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Architect, design, and lead the implementation of robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks for UI, API, and mobile platforms.
- Define and drive the quality engineering roadmap and technical vision, influencing our approach to functional and non-functional (performance, security, load) testing.
- Lead the integration of automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid feedback loops and promoting a culture of continuous delivery.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of SDETs and developers, establishing best practices, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new testing tools, technologies, and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our quality assurance efforts.
- Collaborate closely with Principal Engineers, Architects, and Product Managers to influence software design for testability from the earliest stages of development.
- Establish and oversee the strategy for performance, load, and scalability testing to ensure our applications are robust and resilient at scale.
- Define and track key quality metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect density, escape rates) to provide visibility into quality and drive continuous improvement.
The must have skills that matter:
- You have 10+ years of professional experience in software development and test automation, with a proven track record of technical leadership.
- Expert-level proficiency in an object-oriented or scripting language, preferably Java or JavaScript.
- Demonstrated experience architecting, designing, and developing complex test automation frameworks from scratch.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with UI automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Extensive experience in API testing and automation for RESTful and GraphQL services using libraries like REST Assured (Java) or Supertest/Axios (JavaScript).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and hands-on experience integrating test automation into pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid experience with performance and load testing methodologies and tools, such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
It's a bonus if you have:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their service offerings.
- Experience with security testing tools and methodologies (SAST, DAST).
- Experience testing microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with mobile test automation frameworks.
- A BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
