About this Position

Aptiv is seeking innovative, tech-forward thinkers who are currently interested in pursuing systems, virtual validation, and/or continuous integration (CI) engineering in our rapidly growing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) team. The applicant does not need to have a formal degree or certification.

The apprentice role consists of 3 rotations, each rotation with a slightly different focus:

  • The apprentice will be involved in the preparation, execution, and processing of data collection for the design, development, and validation of driver monitoring systems, conducting tests on tracks and in the real world. To support this, they will be involved with activities such as test harness build, test bench build, and requirements review.
  • The apprentice will build and execute tests for various ADAS features (e.g. adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, automatic lane change, etc.) in the virtual space, using software suites such as Blender and Unreal Gaming Engine and motion capture hardware.
  • The apprentice will be responsible for developing and maintaining a CI framework to build, release, and debug software. They will work with the development teams to communicate what branches of software should be used and will help to create software reuse strategies.

A successful apprentice has a self-starting mentality, enjoys working hands-on on a variety of projects simultaneously and understands how to achieve a high level of “customer” satisfaction from internal and external engineering teams.
