Team Lead, Engine Programming (R26283)

Our team of programming experts constantly innovates to improve tools and technology designed to empower content developers globally. As part of the Unreal Engine team, you will lead a group responsible for the entire technology stack supporting Unreal Editor for Fortnite, enabling creators to design larger and more ambitious experiences, while pushing the boundaries of dynamic content creation and distribution. You will also adapt this technology for internal titles like Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, and Rocket Racing, transforming their development and evolving Fortnite into an open metaverse platform, which will serve as the foundation for Unreal Engine itself. You will collaborate with a creative, energetic, and passionate team to keep Fortnite one of the most popular and engaging gaming experiences in the world.

Must Have

• Lead a team responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and improving the cloud engine technology used by UEFN
• Define and drive the medium to long-term vision for the UEFN process development strategy
• Assume responsibility for the live operational management of the UEFN cloud engine
• Collaborate closely with game teams to gather and address the needs of internal partners
• Actively contribute to the codebase, diagnose issues, and ensure their rapid resolution
• Plan, organize, and prioritize your team's work, while identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures
• Proven experience in leading a programming team
• Strong C++ programming skills
• Hands-on experience with modern profiling tools
• Experience working with large datasets and ability to process information efficiently
• Demonstrated ability to communicate progress, present plans, and deliver documentation to internal partners
• Team spirit, sense of collaboration, and ability to mentor within the programming team
• Ability to advance long-term development goals while delivering short-term results, holding the team accountable for the quality of its deliverables

What you will do

As part of the Unreal Engine team, you will lead a group responsible for the entire technology stack that supports Unreal Editor for Fortnite, enabling creators to design larger and more ambitious experiences, while pushing the boundaries of dynamic content creation and distribution. In addition to evolving our tools for user-created content, you will participate in adapting this technology to meet the needs of our internal titles, such as Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, and Rocket Racing. Your work will help transform how these products are developed and evolve Fortnite into a true open metaverse platform, which will serve as the foundation for Unreal Engine itself. You will primarily collaborate with a creative, energetic, and passionate team to continue making Fortnite one of the most popular and engaging gaming experiences in the world.
