Job Description

Zelis is modernizing the healthcare financial experience in the U.S. across payers, providers, and healthcare consumers. This role involves taking data and BI products to market, driving adoption, and measuring post-launch business impact. The Technical Product Analyst will define and track adoption metrics to ensure products deliver sustained value across business units, contributing to Zelis' mission of streamlining healthcare financial processes.
Good To Have:
  • Hands-on experience with Sigma BI and Insights Hub–style deployments.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, including backlog management tools (JIRA).
  • Familiarity with data standards and vocabulary (ICD-10, CPT, HL7, NPI).
  • Experience supporting data quality frameworks, lineage, and metadata management.
  • Familiarity with US healthcare data (providers, payers, networks, credentialing, reimbursement models).
Must Have:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and prioritize data/BI product requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical deliverables for data and BI products.
  • Document user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and data requirements.
  • Define KPIs, taxonomies, and hierarchies for standardized insights.
  • Conduct gap analysis and recommend data product enhancements.
  • Ensure data models, dashboards, and reports align with product requirements.
  • Validate data pipelines and transformations for production readiness.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to validate requirements and feasibility.
  • Define metadata, lineage, and governance rules for Insights Hub assets.
  • Liaise with US stakeholders, translating healthcare domain requirements.
  • Ensure products adhere to HIPAA, ACA, CMS, and other healthcare regulations.
  • Partner with engineering and InfoSec for data security and access control.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 4+ years experience in product, business, or technical analyst role.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis concepts and BI/analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Exposure to data warehousing and ETL tools.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data/BI specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of data governance, compliance, and privacy regulations.

Position Overview

Proven experience in taking data and BI products to market, driving adoption, and measuring post-launch business impact. Ability to define and track adoption metrics (e.g., user engagement, usage growth, ROI realized) to ensure products deliver sustained value across business units.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Business Alignment

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to capture, refine, and prioritize requirements for data and BI products, with demonstrated experience in guiding products from concept through delivery and go-to-market adoption.
  • Act as the bridge between business teams and technical teams (Data Analysts, BI Developers, Data Engineers, and DI Manager), ensuring business needs are accurately translated into technical deliverables that support launch-readiness.
  • Document and maintain detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and data requirements for projects across provider, payer, and healthcare data domains, ensuring traceability from design through GTM execution.
  • Support the definition of KPIs, taxonomies, and hierarchies to enable standardized insights across the Insights Hub and measure post-launch success.
  • Conduct gap analysis between current-state and target-state data products, recommending enhancements and roadmap items with an eye toward GTM strategy and adoption.

Data Intelligence & Insights Support

  • Partner with BI Developers and Data Analysts to ensure data models, dashboards, and reports (Sigma BI, Power BI) align with defined product requirements and are positioned for successful rollout.
  • Validate that data pipelines (Snowflake, DBT, Azure Data Factory) and transformations meet business expectations to ensure production readiness and seamless adoption post-launch.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) when required to validate requirements and confirm feasibility, ensuring data integrity for GTM use cases.
  • Assist in defining metadata, lineage, and governance rules to ensure traceability and trust in Insights Hub assets, supporting compliance and confidence at product launch.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Enablement

  • Act as a liaison with US-based stakeholders, translating healthcare domain requirements (credentialing, demographics, provider networks, reimbursement models) into technical use cases ready for rollout and adoption.
  • Work closely with Data Governance and Compliance teams to ensure all products adhere to HIPAA, ACA, CMS, and other healthcare regulations, removing GTM roadblocks early.
  • Partner with engineering and InfoSec to ensure compliance with data security, masking, and access control requirements, enabling smooth go-live across markets.
  • Advocate for a user-centric product mindset, ensuring DI team deliverables not only meet business needs but also drive measurable outcomes and adoption post-launch.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a product analyst, business analyst, or technical analyst role, ideally in healthcare, fintech, or data-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis concepts and familiarity with BI/analytics tools (Sigma BI, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Working knowledge of SQL and ability to query data for validation and requirement gathering.
  • Exposure to data warehousing and ETL tools (Snowflake, DBT, Azure Data Factory preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into data/BI specifications, workflows, and test cases.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional stakeholders (business, technical, and compliance).
  • Familiarity with US healthcare data (providers, payers, networks, credentialing, reimbursement models) is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of data governance, compliance, and privacy regulations (HIPAA, CMS standards, ACA, Medicaid/Medicare).

Preferred Qualifications
