  • Participate in forecast calls, account planning, and management meetings.
  • Review and recommend sales quota alignment.
  • Identify and develop team training opportunities.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly reporting of team progress.

Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a dynamic Named Accounts Technical Sales Manager for the Emerging Business Construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of high-performing Technical Sales Executives focused on customer enterprise accounts. The goal is to partner with internal sales teams, Enterprise Customer Success teams, and Autodesk Consulting to secure sales by helping customers achieve their business objectives and grow their partnership with Autodesk and the Autodesk Construction Cloud and associated solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Team: Oversee and guide a team of Technical Solution Executives focused on a diverse set of enterprise named accounts.
  • Support Sales and Expansion: Work with Named Accounts Sales Leadership to drive the sales and growth of Autodesk Construction Solutions by building and supporting a scalable, world-class technical sales team for the construction technology industry
  • Recruitment and Development: Select, develop, and build teams by recruiting resources, identifying staff development areas, and providing ongoing feedback, coaching, training, and development. Evaluate the performance of team members and promote ongoing development
  • Team Motivation and Coaching: Motivate and develop the team to achieve company goals and objectives. Coach team members to identify and develop opportunities for expansion and growth, focusing on driving solution sales with a customer outcome-driven approach
  • Skill Development: Support continues team development in both soft and hard skills, including strategic business expansion opportunities, presentation skills, discovery methods, value-focused demonstrations, and value-driven documentation, to achieve technical closure
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish strong working relationships across various groups, including GEOs, Sales, Customer Success, Industry Strategy, Marketing, R&D, and others, to gain valuable insights and structure teams effectively
  • Organizational Structure Evaluation: Continually evaluate the organizational structure to ensure success through alignment with sales teams and allocate resources as needed
  • Global Collaboration: Collaborate with the Director of Technical Sales and other organizational Technical Sales Managers on global organizational improvements, initiatives, and business cases
  • Sales Process Optimization: Ensure effective use of sales processes, tools, and methodologies within the team
  • Technical Knowledge: Maintain deep technical knowledge of Autodesk's product line and the construction industry's focus
  • Business Planning: Develop and execute an annual business plan
  • Thought Leadership: Be instrumental as an Autodesk Thought Leader both internally and externally
  • Management Participation: Participate in forecast calls, account planning meetings, and other management meetings, either virtually or in person
  • Sales Quota Review: Review and recommend sales quota alignment with the sales compensation plan design to drive the desired behavior
  • Training Assessment: Identify team training opportunities and define or develop training as needed
  • Reporting: Manage monthly and quarterly reporting of team progress and results

Minimum Qualifications

  • Track Record: Proven success in exceeding professional goals as an individual contributor or manager in the current role
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and a passion for coaching, training, and mentoring individual contributors
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years in the construction industry, technical sales, or customer-facing role, working with executive-level personnel. Previous management experience is a plus
  • Product Knowledge: Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud products is a plus
  • Skills: Analytical, detail-oriented, and a master multi-tasker
  • Team Player: Must be a hungry, humble, and smart ideal team player with advanced soft skills
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as required

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $190,600 and $275,770. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
