Must Have

  • 10+ years in Sales Engineering or similar technical customer-facing roles
  • 5+ years in global leadership, including matrix leadership
  • Proven track record in building and scaling SE methodologies, processes, and knowledge centers
  • Strong experience with enterprise-grade POCs, complex solution designs, and technical validation
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Product, R&D, and Sales leadership
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience in wireless Telecom technologies and standards
  • Expertise in Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint architectures, IP networks, and mobile networks
  • Experience managing global SE organizations across multiple time zones
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline

About the Role

The VP Sales Engineering will scale our global Sales Engineering teams through matrix leadership, partnering closely with regional and functional leaders. This role is responsible for building a world-class SE knowledge center, elevating technical excellence, and implementing global processes that enable consistent, high-quality customer engagements.

Although this position does not directly manage SEs, it owns global standards, training, methodologies, and people decisions in partnership with regional leaders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Build and lead the global Sales Engineering knowledge center, defining standards and best practices across all regions.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge, product expertise, and sales skills within the SE teams.
  • Establish and grow a community of global Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

2. Global Process Implementation

  • Define and implement scalable, unified SE methodologies across regions through matrix alignment.
  • Own the POC framework, success criteria, and process governance.
  • Lead and standardize processes for complex configurations and technical solution design.
  • Ensure strong knowledge flow between Product, R&D, Sales, and regional SE leaders.

3. People Decisions

  • Act as a strategic partner in key people decisions (hiring, promotions, performance, mobility) together with regional SE managers.
  • Collaborate with HR and regional leaders to ensure a high-performing global SE organization.

4. Removing Hurdles & Driving Organizational Efficiency

  • Identify global gaps in processes, tools, and competencies within the SE teams domain; lead improvements that remove friction and drive scale.
  • Lead change management across functional and professional SE domains.
  • Represent SE needs across Product, R&D, Operations, and Sales leadership teams.
  • Ensure the SE function is empowered to drive high-impact customer engagements worldwide.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a similar technical customer-facing function.
  • 5+ years of experience in global leadership, including matrix leadership across regions and functions.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling SE methodologies, processes, and knowledge centers in complex organizations.
  • Strong experience running enterprise-grade POCs, complex solution designs, and technical validation cycles.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Product, R&D, and Sales leadership to drive alignment and execution.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience in wireless Telecom technologies and standards, Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint architectures, IP networks, and mobile networks
  • Experience managing global SE organizations across multiple time zones.
  • Background in building SME communities, knowledge bases, or technical enablement programs.
  • Deep understanding of technical sales cycles, customer requirements, and product evaluation processes.
  • Ability to design, standardize, and implement global SE frameworks, training programs, and best practices.
  • Expertise in transforming complex technical concepts into clear, compelling value narratives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline. Master’s preferred.
