Job Summary

Join a team of WordPress specialists focused on developing turn-key solutions on the WordPress CMS. This role involves setting up WordPress, configuring plugins, integrating markup, maintaining solutions, optimizing, and integrating third-party APIs. You will code, develop integration tests, debug, document, implement, and maintain software, promoting good design principles. The role also includes assisting test engineers, performing code reviews, identifying technical risks, reporting progress, contributing to technical specifications, and participating in estimation and planning sessions.

Must Have

  • Develop, debug, and maintain software portions.

  • Experience with Git and GitFlow.
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts.
  • Upper-Intermediate English proficiency.

Good to Have

  • Good Front-end development skills (HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Vue.js)
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and SOLID principles
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services

You will join a team of WordPress specialists focused on developing turn-key solutions on the WordPress CMS. Our core team consists of T-shaped professionals who work on both creative landing pages and corporate websites along with purely technical assignments on WordPress plugins and WordPress-based application development.

You will be responsible for setting up WordPress, setting up plugins, integrating markup, maintaining the solution, updating and optimizing, and integrating third-party APIs.

Our Customers are mostly based in Europe and the USA, with web solutions in areas such as FinTech, E-commerce, hospitality, education, consulting, construction, and healthcare.

The variety of projects being developed at Sigma Software allows you to grow professionally on the ongoing basis, get involved in new career opportunities, and learn new Front-end (Vue.js, ReactJS, AngularJS) and PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony).

Job Description

  • Code, develop integration tests, debug, document, implement, and maintain portions of software
  • Promote good design principles, such as code reuse, modularity, and extensibility
  • Assist test engineers and support personnel in solving technical issues of software installation and its operation
  • Perform code reviews for compliance with the best engineering practices, coding standards, and quality criteria set forth on the project
  • Continuously participate in technical risk identification and analysis, immediately notify the project manager of new risks identified, and suggest a mitigation strategy
  • Report status and progress according to the project and company requirements
  • Contribute to the creation of technical specifications
  • Participate in estimation and planning sessions

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with WordPress CMS (themes/plugins development/customization)
  • Knowledge of the most popular WordPress plugins and practices (cache, security, E-commerce, etc.)
  • Solid experience with MySQL (MariaDB)
  • Solid experience with popular web server configurations (Apache, nginx)
  • Good knowledge of Docker and Linux ecosystem
  • Ability to find narrow places and fix them (profiling, increasing performance, analyzing)
  • Experience with Git and GitFlow
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts (Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.)
  • Upper-Intermediate level of spoken and written English
