Job Overview
- We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Workplace Associate (Shipyard Support) to help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming work environment at our Franklin shipyard and office facilities. This role plays a critical part in creating a positive employee experience by ensuring shared spaces are safe, stocked, and ready for daily operations. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping workspaces tidy, responds quickly to issues, and thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain fully stocked break rooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces with necessary supplies.
- Receive, sort, and distribute office and shipyard supplies as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low stock for timely reordering.
- Assist with deliveries and workplace logistics support.
- Keep all shared areas neat, orderly, and welcoming for employees and visitors.
- Respond quickly to spills, messes, or disruptions and perform routine cleaning tasks such as trash removal, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, sweeping, dusting, and resetting shared spaces.
- Support janitorial staff by addressing small maintenance or cleaning needs between scheduled services.
- Conduct daily end-of-day cleaning of floors, restrooms, and common areas.
- Assist with basic maintenance and upkeep tasks in collaboration with the Maintenance team.
- Partner with workplace and maintenance staff to identify and report potential safety, plumbing, or electrical issues.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas across the shipyard.
- Support setup of furniture, equipment, and light assembly tasks as needed.
- Execute manager requests promptly and efficiently.
- Partner with Shipping and Receiving for sorting, moving deliveries, and waste removal.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and effective communication.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in workplace, facilities, janitorial, or general maintenance support.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, organized spaces.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Comfortable performing hands-on tasks and light physical work.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted.
- Flexibility to support occasional after-hours or weekend needs.
- Willingness to work across both office and shipyard environments.
