Job Description

HP, a global technology leader, seeks a Workplace Test Lab Technician for its Employee Experience & Innovation (EE&I) team. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the enterprise test lab, involving validation of OS images, application installations, and PC modifications. The technician will collaborate with change requestors and the Workplace Change Advisory Board (CAB) to ensure thorough testing and provide feedback. Must have:
  • Test new/updated OS images for hardware compatibility and stability.
  • Document issues and collaborate with development teams to resolve them.
  • Install and test new applications and updates.
  • Verify compatibility with OS and existing software.
  • Report issues and bugs.
  • Set up and update test PCs per requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot lab issues.
  • Record test outcomes and system behavior.
  • Submit regular status reports and maintain SOPs.
  • Work closely with team and stakeholders.
  • Share updates and feedback during meetings.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements.
  • Engage in continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate with change requestors and testers.
  • Ensure proper testing of changes before CAB approval.
  • Provide feedback and validation results to stakeholders.
  • Have no more than 12 months of prior professional work experience.
  • Completed at least a bachelor’s degree prior to start date.
  • Able to obtain work authorization in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Understand OS imaging, application installation, and PC configuration.
  • Familiarity with basic lab procedures, equipment, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Work effectively across teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong time management to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

The Team:

Employee Experience & Innovation (EE&I) is seeking a Test Lab Technician in our future-oriented businesses to test and ensure quality prior to changes and deployments to all of HP.

The EE&I Test Lab Technician will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the enterprise test lab environment, including validating operating system images, verifying application installations and updates, and ensuring successful implementation of PC-related modifications across the organization.

This role will collaborate directly with change requestors and the Workplace Change Advisory Board (CAB) to oversee testing requirements, ensure proper execution, and deliver constructive feedback throughout the change management process.

Education and Experience Required (Objective Minimum Qualifications)

  • Have no more than 12 months of prior work experience professionally related to the Graduate Hire Requisition they are applying to, (not including internships, teaching assistance, research work, or military experience).
  • Will have completed at least your bachelor’s degree prior to your anticipated start date with HP.
  • Able to obtain work authorization in the United States without requiring sponsorship in the future.
  • Understanding of OS imaging, application installation, and PC configuration
  • Familiarity with basic lab procedures, equipment, and documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Work effectively across teams in a cross-functional environment

Benefits:

The base pay range for this role is $65,300 to $85,680 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
