Job Description

A 3D Animator/Character artist at Lanterns creates, fixes and edits 3D animations for video games. This involves creating animations from scratch based on references, testing and validating designs repeatedly, polishing animations, ensuring high-quality data capture during mocap sessions, and tracking and retargeting motion capture data. They also make necessary changes to align with the artistic vision, collaborate with different teams for animation integration, and carry out related tasks. The role requires a passion for game development and a desire to create compelling experiences.

Must Have:

Create animations from scratch and according to references.
Test animations and validate designs.
Polish animations.
Ensure high-quality data capture during mocap sessions.
Track and retarget motion capture data.
Collaborate with teams for animation integration.

A 3D Animator/Character artist creates, fixes and edits 3D animations needed to be integrated in the company products/video games.

The daily life of a 3D Animator at Lanterns:

Create animations from scratch and according to references.
Testing your animations—over and over—and validating your designs.
Polishing animations.
Ensure high quality data capture/data quality assurance during mocap sessions.
Track and retarget motion capture data.
Make any necessary changes to ensure that the work is in keeping with the artistic vision.
Collaborate with the different teams to ensure the correct integration of the animation's assets according to the director's vision.
Carry out all other related tasks. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
