PHINIA is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to lead a team of 5-7 accounting professionals in Krakow, Poland. The role involves overseeing general accounting and monthly closing activities, ensuring compliance with group accounting policies and US GAAP. Responsibilities include monitoring booking activities, managing transactional activities via internal service providers, reconciling P&L and Balance Sheet, reviewing budgets and forecasts, and supporting financial controllers with US tax accounting. Additionally, the supervisor will manage local statutory requirements, including timely submission of reports, preparation of annual accounts, corporate tax returns, VAT, and supporting external audits. Must Have:
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional accounting certification (or in progress)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/reporting
  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with SAP
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Monthly Closing (80%)

  • Lead and supervise a team of 5–7 accounting professionals
  • Monitor booking activities and ensure alignment with the monthly closing calendar
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and US GAAP
  • Oversee and coordinate transactional activities (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable) performed by internal service providers (GBS)
  • Act as liaison between GBS, local teams, and other PHINIA entities
  • Review P&L and Balance Sheet, ensuring accuracy through detailed account reconciliations
  • Review, approve, and submit monthly US GAAP reporting packages
  • Review budgets and forecasts; analyze variances and provide insights
  • Support the Financial Controller in US tax accounting matters

Local Statutory Requirements (20%)

  • Collaborate with GBS and ensure timely submission of statutory reports
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of annual accounts, corporate tax returns, VAT, statistical, and central bank reporting
  • Support with external audit process and provide requested documentation

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional accounting certification (or in progress)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/reporting
  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership experience
  • Experience in a consulting or audit firm
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
