Our goals - Your path

At the Düdingen site, Sika produces multi-layer plastic sheets as well as adhesives and sealants for the construction and automotive industries. There is a lot of technological know-how here, and continuous improvements are being made – for the benefit of customers: Sika products can be used to bond body parts and battery systems for electric cars, fix components in infrastructure or interior finishing, seal joints elastically, or protect house roofs, tunnels, and basements from water.

For the start of the apprenticeship in August 2026, we are looking for interested young people for the apprenticeship as Plant Operator EFZ.

Plant operators control and operate larger production and packaging systems in various areas of the industrial sector. They know the production process from individual raw materials to the finished product. They coordinate and control the individual sub-processes and monitor the systems during the manufacturing process. They are involved in analyzing errors or optimizing processes.

They carry out simpler mechanical maintenance work themselves and intervene immediately in the event of malfunctions. They ensure the functioning of the system and, if necessary, call in technicians.

Requirements

• Secondary or lower secondary school diploma with good grades in mathematics and sciences

Going Beyond. Together.

• Duration of the apprenticeship: 3 years
• Theoretical training 1 day a week at the vocational school in Olten
• Professional baccalaureate possible during the apprenticeship
• Completion with a federal certificate of competence as a Plant Operator EFZ

Possible further training after the apprenticeship

• Team leader, area manager
• Production assistant, production planner
• Production manager, planning manager
• Master (higher professional examination)
• Technician HF, Engineer FH
