Job Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for working with the Business Development Managers and the Bidding Producer. In addition they will manage their own projects through the bidding process to support the Business Development Manager and develop new leads.

Primary Responsibilities:

Team Management – 40%

  • Oversee the smooth running of the Business Development team.
  • Divide projects in bidding and allocate projects to Business Development Manager for oversight.
  • Review and prioritize client and department deadlines.
  • Work with Business Development Team and Commercial Analyst to prepare financials on all bids for approval by EPs.
  • Work with the Business Development Manager, Producer and EPs on strategy for closing out all bids to award.
  • Understand function and workings of bid document and the Bidding Producers role.
  • Pick up small bidding tasks to help support Bidding Producer.

Case Load – 35%

  • Manage own portfolio of projects.
  • Act as a key contact point for client liaison on allocated projects.
  • Organize and attend all bidding meetings relating to allocated projects.
  • Be prepared to speak to the client regarding the project specifics during the negotiation process.
  • Manage handover of awarded shows to the local EP.
  • Create Ones input documents for resource on allocated shows.

Lead Development – 25%

  • Be proactive with the client and anticipate their needs.
  • Be an ambassador for the brand and be knowledgeable of the history, current projects, key executives and creatives, headcount and other specialized services.
  • Create development plans for incoming projects, highlighting client needs, business opportunities and key stake holders to be shared with the team at the beginning of each project.
  • Work with the EP for Talent to assign supervisors to projects.
  • Be an active participant in the VFX community, maximizing networking opportunities.

Maintain an understanding of the wider VFX landscape and a knowledge of our competitors activities

Qualifications

  • 6+ years' experience within the VFX industry preferred. 
  • Highly attentive to communicating effectively with clients and internal teams
  • Strong presentation skills both verbal and written
  • Detail oriented
