About the role
This position is a key support function for the Haleon Consumer Health GBI Demand Planners, responsible for a variety of key reporting functions in the Demand Planning Team. Not only will you deliver regular reports for use by the demand planners, but you will be expected to spot opportunities for continuous improvement and positive change in these processes. You will provide impact and analysis insights and will be tasked with removing inefficient activities from the process and establishing new and improved ways of working.
You will be a central planning point of contact for projects, fresh innovations and initiatives. Will assess the impact of major changes on the demand forecasting group. This will include assigning responsibilities around the team and running meetings designed to use project performance to identify key learnings which can be applied moving forward.
Key responsibilities
- Creating and updating regular reports – drawing out key insights and delivering them in a range of forums.
- Driving a better understanding of forecast accuracy and forecast bias metrics across demand team (shared with Commercial)
- Will be opportunities to monitor and analyse demand drivers such as seasonality, consumer trends, economic factors, and market dynamics as well as review the outputs of our key commercial cycle meetings and optimally add enrichments into the planning system
- Support the Team in the forecast builds in the regimented Planning Calendar in the new APS System
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of all components of the Demand Forecast, statistical baseline, promotion and repacking uplifts, and cannibalization
- Prepare and conduct SKU Analysis, and recommend SKUs requiring enrichment compared to no touch forecasts (baseline forecast only)
- Define, develop and test potential new (global) driver for AI/ML supported forecasting models in cooperation with data science hub and Demand Planer.
- Manage product segmentation to ensure SKUs are grouped to optimise model performance and accuracy, as well as to enable consistent planning.
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement Team to identify the gap on current process and methodologies for continuous improvement, enhance forecast accuracy and efficiency.
- Driving a better understanding of KPI forecast accuracy and forecast bias metrics across demand team through analyst support and shared with business stakeholders. Root Cause Analysis / Continuous improvement
Qualifications and skills
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree (in supply chain management, business, statistics, economics, or a related field, preferred but not essential )
- Strong analytical and attention to detail skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work at pace in line with the regimented planning calendar and adapt to changing priorities.
- Some experience in supply chain arenas within the FMCG industry or a related field
- Consumer / Customer first and business growth mind set
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and build cross-functional partnerships across the team and with our business partners
- Digital Literacy
Preferred
- Understanding of supply chain
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting techniques, familiarity with statistical tools such as APS/IBP
