Must Have:
  • Responsible for all HR operations in Japan.
  • Manage social insurance, onboarding, and offboarding procedures.
  • Handle labor standards reports, audits, and union-related processes.
  • Respond to HR inquiries and distribute to relevant personnel.
  • Conduct onboarding orientation and create HR statistical reports.
  • Manage Workday HR system and support department managers.
  • Participate in global projects for process and system improvement.
  • Act as an HR consultant on complex matters, advising on local legislations.
  • Ensure HR processes and policies comply with local legislations.
  • Make final decisions on administrative/operational matters.
  • Develop and deliver training for new HR processes and programs.
  • Analyze and redesign shared services business processes.
  • Work with HR systems and process integration teams to streamline processes.
  • Lead or support country/regional/global projects, improving onboarding/offboarding.
  • 4-7 years of work experience in HR operations or a related field.
  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.

HR Global Services Advisor / HR Operations Manager

Description

You will be responsible for all HR operations in Japan. You will also collaborate with the global HR Global Service team to perform your duties.

  • All social insurance related tasks, collaboration with partner companies.
  • Onboarding and offboarding procedures.
  • Filing various reports to labor standards inspection offices, audit response.
  • Union-related procedure processing.
  • Responding to various HR-related inquiries, distributing to relevant personnel (including overseas).
  • Conducting onboarding orientation.
  • Creating HR-related statistical reports.
  • Managing the global common HR system "Workday", supporting department managers.
  • Participation in global projects - process improvement, system improvement, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in HR operations related work.
  • Business level English proficiency is a plus.
  • Experience working in a global team is a plus.

*Reports to an overseas manager.

The role refines shared service processes, collaborates on systems enhancement, and leads projects, including optimizing employee onboarding and offboarding within a cost-effective and change-oriented framework.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as an HR consultant on matters of medium to high complexity, constantly advising local HR and business stakeholders (i.e. managers and employees) on local legislations, HR systems, and HR processes.
  • Reviews country HR processes and policies, and ensures these are compliant with local legislations.
  • Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters, ensuring actions are in compliance with HR policies and processes.
  • Develops and delivers training for new processes, programs, and platform rollouts.
  • Recognizes and reports trends to improve employees' and managers' direct access experience with HR sites, myHR sites, myHR services, and HR systems.
  • Analyzes and redesigns shared services business processes, elicits and documents requirements, tests and validates technology solutions, and provides end-user support.
  • Assists in the operation of managing a profitable HR global service department through productive staffing, strong customer satisfaction, cost controls, setting and meeting objectives with high initiative for change.
  • Evaluates processes, tasks, metrics, and analytics within HR global services.
  • Works closely with HR systems and process integration teams to streamline processes, leverage automation and workflow, and spearhead improvements to systems and user experience.
  • Leads or supports country/regional/global projects and oversees and continuously improves employee onboarding and offboarding.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in customer service, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

Preferred Certifications

  • Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)/ Senior Professional in Human Resources (SHPR)
