Your daily life

The Toulouse site is responsible for the engineering of satellite systems, the design and production of payloads, as well as the development and qualification of ground segments; it integrates a research center and an industrial accelerator for start-ups and ventures.

You will join the Earth observation system and ground segment department, which works on space surveillance via a catalog of space objects fed by real data.

This internship consists of contributing to the improvement of an already developed space surveillance cataloging chain.

Your main missions are as follows:

• Understand the general operation of the cataloging chain.
• Characterize the input surveillance data used (frequency, volume, latency, etc.).
• Define and implement performance and reporting indicators to better understand the chain.
• Test the chain with real data.
• Identify and implement improvements according to their complexity.

The final objective is to optimize the performance of the chain on real data by the end of the internship.

Your profile

Do you have the ambition to perfect your knowledge in the space domain?

Are you preparing an Engineering degree or equivalent (bac +4), specialized in computer science, and are you looking for an internship lasting 4 months?

You have skills in:

• Computer science: data management and development.
• Proficiency in Python and database management tools.
• Sensitivity to algorithmic problems: definition, implementation and performance optimization.
• Basic knowledge of space mechanics.
• Interest in space surveillance and space traffic management.
