Join Thales Next Gen IS/IT strategic development as an IS/IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer in Bucharest, Romania. This role supports Thales's digital transformation by delivering high-availability and high-performance IT solutions for users. You will work in an agile environment, focusing on SCCM infrastructure, OS image deployment, automation with PowerShell, and providing Level 3 support. The position involves collaborating with various teams to ensure system efficiency and security, contributing to a global governance and fostering teamwork.

Must Have:
  • Monitor all software, hardware, equipment and systems continuously.
  • Work with team members to troubleshoot and define solutions.
  • Configure and maintain SCCM infrastructure and connected systems.
  • Collect, develop and maintain design documents and standard operating procedures.
  • Automate and streamline operational processes with PowerShell and scripting tools.
  • Responsible for keeping the applications’ catalogue up to date.
  • Responsible for updating and modifying the OS image and deployment task sequences.
  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce endpoint protection and configuration baselines.
  • Provide Level 3 support for critical issues (client-side SCCM issues, tools’ deployment, upgrades).
  • Assist workplace squad with the deployment of new tools, migrations and systems.
  • Act as technical SPOC for the Workplace squad.
  • Define and collaborate on improvement initiatives.
  • Configure server hardware, operating systems, storage systems and other IT assets.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of SCCM infrastructure and integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and networking concepts.
  • Experience with and knowledge of collaboration tools (e.g. Office 365, SharePoint).
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

On this position, you will join the Thales Next Gen IS/IT strategic development. Next Gen IS/IT is a core part of the Thales Group digital transformation, it aims at supporting Thales competitiveness by strengthening the relationship between businesses and functions. The programme leverages agile methods to promote team empowerment while maximizing projects efficiency.

To support our Global Transformation, we are looking for a Senior IT Workplace engineers to join our team: workplace engineers focus on delivering high-availability and high-performance IT solutions to sustain the users' online and on-site activities.

CANDIDATES THAT WOULD IMPRESS US

PROFILE:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly related experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SCCM in enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge and experience with Operating System technologies and related systems.
  • Experience with virtualisation, containerisation and monitoring systems.
  • Experience providing technical direction to project teams, working in agile environment being preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor all software, hardware, equipment and systems continuously and setting up protocols for feedback.
  • Work in close collaboration with other team members to troubleshoot and define solutions to solve issues/improve performance.
  • Configure and maintain SCCM infrastructure and connected systems
  • Collect, develop and maintain design documents for solutions (customizations, software, OS hardening etc.) and standard operating procedures.
  • Automate and streamline operational processes (ex. clean-up) with PowerShell and other scripting tools.
  • You will be responsible for keeping the applications’ catalogue up to date.
  • You will be responsible for updating and modifying the OS image and deployment task sequences.
  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce endpoint protection and configuration baselines.
  • You will provide Level 3 support to in scope countries for critical issues (client-side SCCM issues, tools’ deployment, upgrades etc.).

  • You are able to work with all levels of staff within and outside of your function and across various entities (e.g. CBU, Countries, Regions…).
  • You have strong communication and documentation skills.
  • You are proactive and self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset.
  • You are Independent and self-organizing.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • You have a dedication to the agile and digital working styles allowing enhanced collaboration and breaking down of silos.
  • You have past experience or knowledge on Microsoft Intune, and hybrid deployments.

LIFE AS AN IT WORKPLACE ENGINEER:

You focus on delivering high-availability and high-performance IT solutions to sustain regional users’ availability. On a daily basis, you will work with a team/Squad and be the primary point of communication to interlink between all players to simplify the accomplishment of a successful system.

You will work through each phase of the given system and process, from planning its expansion, to its validation and operations. You will work on technical risk assessment, regularly concentrating on performance, testing, scheduling, and budgets.

You will interface with various stakeholders, within the Entity and throughout IS/IT Function, in order to deliver stakeholders satisfaction by managing capacity and carrying out remote and/or on-site support.
