Description

As a Junior 3D Artist, your primary responsibility will be to create high-quality assets and materials, being able to learn and adapt to different pipelines, techniques, tools and artistic styles. To excel in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for game development.

Responsibilities

● Create 3D assets for video games, from high-poly to textures, from concept to final art. Be able to model organic meshes, work with shaders, and integrate your work into the engine, following concepts, 3D models and art direction specifications.

● Be adaptable and willing to switch between projects or styles as needed.

● Be open to learning new workflows and techniques.

● Ensure that your work aligns with the graphic style, theme, and other visual requirements.

● Follow art direction and feedback from the Art Manager, Principal Art Manager and Head of Art to ensure consistency and quality across all artwork.

● Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, manage your time effectively and communicate any delays in the estimates to your Art Manager.

● Maintain organised file structures.

● Understand and address any issues promptly in collaboration with your managers.

● Regularly review, verify and update the status of assigned tasks and workload.

● Advise management in a timely manner of any issues which may impact project schedules.

● Be willing to perform any other duties, functions, and responsibilities required by the project or the studio, assigned to you by the Art Manager, Principal Art Manager, Head of Art and Production team, faithfully, diligently, efficiently and to the best of your abilities.

● Provide art materials made within the studio for the company's, website, portfolio and demo reel for marketing needs.

● Collaborate and participate in any necessary meetings, team or activities related to the studio and the project assigned.

● Exhibit initiative, be proactive, ask questions, and clearly report improvements and possible issues to the Art Manager.

● Ability to take direction and feedback positively and adapt to changing project requirements.

● Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve skills and techniques.

Requirements

● Basic understanding of art fundamentals including composition, colour theory and lighting.

● Experience in modelling, texturing and optimising assets for video games.

● Familiarity with real-time rendering, baked lighting and level design principles.

● Knowledge of 3D modelling software such as 3Ds Max, Maya or Blender; Zbrush and Substance Painter.

● Experience working with Unreal Engine 5.

● Experience translating concepts from concept art into 3D assets.

● Attention to detail.

● Use of Photoshop and Wacom tablets.

● Ability to render final art creatively.

● An eye for composition.

● Skills in estimating and organising art tasks during the planning process, structured workflow habits and ability to consistently meet deadlines.

● Persistence, drive, and self-motivation.

● Excellent communication and organisational skills.

● Team-oriented mindset. Collaborative mindset, willing to share knowledge and learn from colleagues.

● Positive, creative, and fearless attitude, with a willingness to push boundaries, experiment with new ideas, and openly express opinions.

● Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.

Desired Requirements

● Passion for games development and strong game culture.

● Foundation in traditional art.

● Preferred architectural background or related field for Environment Artists.

● Substance Designer knowledge.

● Basic knowledge in 2D.

● Experience with Unity 3D.

● Knowledge of repository software such as Perforce, Plastic SCM, Github, etc.
