Job Description

As the Payroll Tax Administrator, you will support the Human Resources team by managing payroll-related processes. Your responsibilities include handling personnel and payroll data, benefits, and talent administration, including large-scale data updates. You’ll ensure accurate setup of employee tax and unemployment information, process W-2 and W-2c forms, and resolve payroll tax notices. You’ll also respond to employee and manager inquiries professionally and efficiently.

Relevant Payroll Tax experience required. Experience processing payroll is deemed a bonus skillset but not required for this opening.

Your role:

  • Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of employee tax information, including work state, local withholding codes, and SUI tax rates. Perform audits, process W-2 corrections, and coordinate tax amendments. Prepare annual federal wage allocations and maintain tax verification reports for audits to maintain tax compliance and reporting.
  • Support payroll operations by reviewing and reconciling weekly, bi-weekly, quarterly, and year-end tax funding and filings. Act as a liaison with payroll and unemployment insurance vendors to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
  • Lead and participate in payroll-related projects, train new hires, support team members with policies and systems, and manage employee inquiries related to earnings and tax withholding through the Call Management System (CMS).

  • You’ve acquired 4+ years’ experience in payroll tax in a multi-state environment.
  • Your skills include experience with ADP Global View and Microsoft Office. SAP HRIS is a plus, with a foundation in Payroll Systems, Employee Data Management, and Data Privacy Regulations and proficiency in documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • You have a High School Diploma with vocational training / Bachelor's Degree (preferred), in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, Organization Development or equivalent.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You’re a strong communicator (persuasive and assertive), proactive in problem solving and coordinating priorities to solve issues with various stakeholders (i.e., Administration and Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, HR managers and HR business partners), with the willingness to ensure tax reporting deadlines are met.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office role.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Nashville, TN is $26.00 to $40.00.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives, may be offered. Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Nashville, TN.
